Arroccato su travi di legno, questo piccolo e accogliente telaio ad A offre una perfetta combinazione di loft urbano e vita in cabina rustica. Offrendo una vista a volo d'uccello sul porto dal ponte e dalla camera da letto a soppalco, la Birdhouse è un'affascinante base di partenza per la tua avventura nel Grand Marais.

La cabina è immersa in un vicolo a pochi passi da ristoranti, negozi, porto, birrerie, caffetteria, North House Folk School, Art Colony e molto altro.

Il fulcro della Birdhouse è la moderna vasca bordeaux, perfetta per sorseggiare il caffè del mattino. Si noti che non c'è la doccia.

La parete delle finestre esposte a sud lascia entrare la luce naturale, perfetta in una fredda giornata invernale! In estate, il ponte esposto a sud è lì per goderti i tuoi drink dell'happy hour prima di entrare nella scena notturna.

La finitura interna presenta un tema nepalese con cestini di facchino, coperta di lana di yak e grande ciotola cantante. Il calore di una finitura interamente in legno è creato dai pavimenti in betulla, pareti con pannelli in legno e grandi travi in legno a soppalco. Le finestre a forma astratta offrono un piacevole equilibrio moderno.

La cucina è completamente fornita. Mökki offre un frigo bar, piano cottura a gas propano, bollitore, caffettiera a cono, pentole, padelle, piatti e spezie. Si noti che non c'è forno.

Il suono dei gabbiani del porto ti farà sicuramente sentire come se fossi su un soggiorno sull'oceano.

La tua avventura inizia camminando per 25 metri lungo un vicolo dal parcheggio sulla strada, salendo una rampa di scale fino a questa caratteristica piccola dimora.

Inoltre, tieni presente che ci sono delle scale ripide per raggiungere il soppalco della camera da letto al piano superiore. Il design A-frame significa che il letto a soppalco è vicino al pavimento.

Ti consigliamo di portare la luce! La Birdhouse è minuscola, a 230 piedi quadrati; è accogliente.

Quaint, quiet place. Kitchen had everything I needed. Balcony was perfect! This was a great place to just stay in, but it was also close enough to downtown to walk when I wanted people. Will stay again!

Spouse was taking a class at the North House Folk School. She could walk there while l enjoyed long walks around town and out on the break front to the Light House. Very cozy.

The Perfect Spot

What a wonderful little hideaway nestled into downtown. We loved the convience of the location and waking up to look at the water. We would love to stay again. Excellent host and great communication.

Mokki Birdhouse - quiet sanctuary in town

I loved staying in this lovely, quiet, small cabin. Just a short walk from North House Folk School where I was taking class, it felt right in line with the folk atmosphere of my class. Rustic, super clean, beautifully handbuilt, relaxing bathtub, comfy bed up in loft, and the view!

Cozy Weekend

We spent a wonderful week in Grand Marais, and this cabin was one of the biggest highlights. It was warm and inviting, uniquely decorated and provided everything one could need. Walking distance to downtown and a stones throw from Java Moose.

Quaint little nest

Very cute and quirky get away. Loved how close we were to town, did a lot of walking. The description in Vrbo was very accurate of the property but was perfect for what we needed. Would stay here again.

Writing Retreat Cabin

I have been renting cabins in Grand Marais as a week-long writing retreat once a year for more than a decade. This is the first time I've spent my week in the Birdhouse. It was a lovely, quirky little space they pretty much had everything I needed to write all day and finish my novel. The bed was amazingly comfortable!! (SIX STARS!) The bathtub was lovely & relaxing. I was worried about the space having an adequate writing desk area, but it was very nice & the stool was comfortable. I wrote 10-12 hours a day and my back did not hurt AT ALL. The natural light in the cabin was lovely as well & well thought out. It made for an airy, pleasant space. Loved the balcony too. One complaint was the kitchen was not as well supplied as I would have liked. The lack of a microwave did not seem like a big deal, but it was missed. The small, little French press was not enough when writing all day. (This is specific to me as I was in the cabin all day & do love coffee while writing. But a full size French press would be a welcome addition!) The fridge was the perfect size. I wish there would have been a toaster. Maybe just knowing up front that there is no microwave or toaster would be good to know. (Maybe it was & I forgot) The only other complaint about the cabin itself was the lack of a shade on the kitchen side window facing to the balcony. Why was there not a shade there but was everywhere else? Maybe no one could see in but it was uncomfortable to use the bathtub in the middle of the cabin when that one window was completely open. The only other thing was something that was unavoidable and not the fault of the property owner, but the construction on Hwy 61 was awful. The view was obstructed, the noise was sleep-disturbing and it ruined a lot of the tranquility that the cabin affords. I think I was also there the week the construction was directly in front of the cabin's location. Bad timing on my part. Thank you for a lovely stay. The most important thing is I finished my novel & without the Birdhouse I would not have. I do hope the construction finishes soon.

Great Weekend Getaway

My fiancée and I stayed here for a weekend getaway in November and loved everything about it. The location was perfect and the property was so cool and unique. Every detail was perfect. Cozy, romantic, and fun - we would definitely stay here again.

Perfect Treehouse Getaway

Birdhouse is cute, whimsicle & FUN

We come up each year for anniversary and "leaf peeping"! Cabin was cute & fun, however, we're in our 70's and bed was a little difficult to get in & out....but, cabin was so fun anyway. Looking for a "pet friendly" place for next year to be able to bring our cat.. Thank you Sincerely, Jim & Reenie

Pleasant

Had a nice stay, a sweet little home! Two notes though - the water heater is not big enough to draw a hot bath! Warm but not hot. Also, the heat was set at 60 when we arrived and we had trouble getting the heater to turn on when we turned the thermostat up. Had to take the cover off and pushing pilot switch a few different times for it to respond and actually stay on. Small things, but notable. Thanks!

Wow! What a great place!

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Mokki Birdhouse. You really did feel perched up in the air, especially when in the loft. It is a tiny house, as advertised, and that''s what makes the home so fun. The home has everything you need and the bathtub is a great centerpiece. The owner is super responsive and although we had no problems, I feel that if we did, they'd have taken care of it ASAP. Five stars!

Excellent getaway

Grand Marais was the perfect location late summer. And this little A-frame was everything I could ask for in a simple stay. Comfortable bed upstairs, ample room in the kitchen to cook, and a great view of the lake from the deck. I've suggested it to several friends already. I highly recommend this property.

Beautiful

My husband and I booked a couple of nights here for our anniversary. The tiny house is absolutely adorable and we were especially impressed with how amazingly comfortable it was. Having all of the windows open let in that amazing lake breeze and the location was great. Very clean and comfortable!
