The master bedroom is on the north side and does not have enough registers to heat the room even if the unit is running. Most of the time the unit never comes on because the thermostat is in the worst possible place in the kitchen where the heat from the stove keeps the thermostat satisfied so the heat never comes on. This may work very well in the summer, but does not work well at all in the winter. Angie told me about the space heater and that helped. There needs to be a space heater in the bathroom as it is even colder than the bedroom. I had to move the space heater back-and-forth between the bathroom and the master bedroom. The first two nights we were there sometimes during the middle of the night the heat would switched to 50 so we got no heat until the next morning. I got in touch with Angie and got her to change the thermostat so it would not do that. It should never have been set to that to start with. I suggest that Angie stay there a few times during the year so she can see how the HVAC units are inadequate for this house. Some of the rooms upstairs stayed too warm and some stayed very very cold. It seems that itâs only one thermostat to control three floors. Common sense would tell you this is not a good set up as each floor should have its own thermostat. There may be separate units for each different floor but they all seem to be controlled by one thermostat. If thereâs more than one thermostat, we could not find them. The big TV was very good.
