Casa de Cuentos was immaculate, the kitchen was well-stocked, the game room was a ton of fun, the honor bar was a delightful idea, and the hot tub was amazing. Can't imagine finding a better spot for a quick weekend getaway to Taos.

Perfect for families!

This house was perfect for our family of 6. My parents, my kids and my husband and I each had our own room and living room. We had everything we needed and the location was perfect for skiing at Red River, Angel Fire and close to Taos. I would definitely recommend this property.

Best view!

We had 3 families that shared this cozy home for a week. The home is beautifully decorated and well stocked. There was plenty of room for us all, but the bathroom situation was a bit of an issue. The are 2 bathrooms, but only one shower. Getting all 11 of us ready in the morning was really challenging, but overall, our stay was great!

Yes, there are just two bathrooms as advertised and seen in the pictures. One has just a shower and the other has a deep soaking tub with handheld shower--as pictured. I am happy that you enjoyed our beautifully decorated and well-stocked home.

Outstanding property...! The photos don't do this place justice. Very comfortable and relaxing.

We have two kids in college at Texas Tech. One in his 2nd year of Law School and a daughter who is a Junior. We wanted a place for them to relax after completing final exams. This house was PERFECT for that. Not in town... but close enough if you need to go there. Quiet... comfortable... roomy and pet friendly for our rotten schnauzer that has to go with us! I would highly recommend this property!

A beautiful home for a large group, stocked with everything you could possibly need.

Tammi and Dave were wonderful and accommodating hosts for our family Christmas ski trip. Tammi added a high chair for our grandson and Dave kept the hot tub running perfectly for our enjoyment. The home is great for large groups or families. Lots of space to spread out. Casa de Quentos was a great home away from home for our Christmas holiday. The only thing they they didn’t provide this year was snow! Maybe next time. We would definitely stay here again.

Very nice and private

This home had almost everything you could need. Well stocked and beautiful. A lot of space for our group of 10 and 2 dogs. The only reason for a 4 and not 5 is the lack of curtains. The views were beautiful from the art studio during the day but the sun woke my kids up as sun rise. I would recommend not advertising this as a sleep area but rather an area to enjoy the lovely views the property has to offer.

We considered putting curtains or blinds up in the art studio-but, the truth is we just couldn't take away any of the vistas--360 degree views of the Taos Mountains and Valley--unparalleled--so fabulous it is breathtaking. We provide eye pillows for those who may be light sensitive, late sleepers.

Nights Under the Stars at Casa de Cuentos

My husband and I enjoyed 4 weeks at the comfortable Casa de Cuentos in August - a wonderful relief from the Texas heat. We never missed the A/C! Casa de Cuentos is perfect for a family gathering with the 2 living areas and pool table which was really enjoyed by all. The caretakers of the property were so very helpful - anything you needed or had a question about they were right there for you. The Love Apple Restaurant proved to be one of our very favorite dining spots! There were humming birds all month long out on the deck and if you were up early you could see the hot air balloons off the back patio. We would recommend Casa de Cuentos as a true Taos experience!

Wonderful, RELAXING, time at Casa de Cuentos!!

This was my dream home - I absolutely LOVED it! Our family met at Casa de Cuentus for a family vacation coming from Kansas City, California and NYC. It was our first VRBO experience, and what a wonderful experience! It was beautiful, peaceful and oh so relaxing. We enjoyed all the comfortable living spaces, and I especially loved the art studio with the 360 degree views. I just kept sitting in different places to enjoy all the relaxing locations in this house! We also loved being able to bring our dogs and they loved the fenced outdoors and the deck. Tammi and Dave have wonderful decorating taste and every room had so many special touches that made a huge house feel warm and cozy! We will definitely be back, and we'll recommend this house to our friends. Thank you, Tammi and Dave!

Beautiful oasis!

Although the property was a bit "out of the way", it was by far, the most beautiful VRBO we have ever been to (and we tend to pick REALLY great ones)! We were honestly impressed and the kids asked if we could move in....lol!! The master bed was crazy comfy. The upstairs add-on room got a bit warm in the sun but has views that cannot be matched. Literally the most incredible, panoramic views I've seen of the mountains. Only recommendation I have would be converting the closet in the living area/bar into a full bath. The property sleeps so many, that we'd love to come back with another family... but 2 baths can be restricting with several people. Overall, one of the top properties we've ever rented. VERY impressed.

Great home!

We just returned from a 4-night stay at this lovely home. There were two families, 4 adults and 3 children and we had room for probably a whole other family! The house is nice than the pictures, so much room, well taken care of, and the views from every angle are gorgeous. We ski'd Taos while we were there, and it was an easy 20 minute drive or so to the moutain, and about 15 minutes to town. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful, even offering recommendations for restaurants for us to visit that were good for small children (Michaels Kitchen and Pizanos were both great!) and preferred grocery stores to stock up and cook in the roomy kitchen. Our only complaint and tip for the owners would be to replace the mattress in the 2nd bedroom (across from hall bathroom) as it is completely worn out and angled so that you constantly fall down towards the foot of the bed. We actually played musical beds with the other couple several nights so that we could each get a good night's sleep in the very comfortable master king bed. Twice the adults ended up on the futon in the living room as it was more comfortable than the second bed. The queen in the 3rd bedroom was comfortable, and all the bedding was very soft and high quality. Thank you for a great stay!

Broken slats which hold up the box springs were the culprit. They have been fixed and all is well and all beds/bedding are beautifully luxurious!

Lovely Home! But be careful of messaging before booking.

Great place to stay. Tammi & Dave were very responsive. Sometimes the amount of content in their messages can come off as a little aggressive, but one can understand why they do that with being in that industry and most likely them being burned before. While they give you a lot of rules and even upped the price on us last minute which was cold but I guess part of the business for them, overall it was pleasant trip and even with the last second price hike it was the only option that worked for the size of my family and we'd stay again. Only one shower was not a problem for us, but it could be with some. Especially since they require you take a shower before getting in the hot tub. We just opted for not using the hot tub because of this which wasn't a bummer as we still utilized the fireplace and enjoyed the scenic views. If you're kind and courtesy to Tammi & Dave and respectful of their home as if it was your own, I doubt you will have any problem. Just make sure you book the home when you see it available and do not message them first as this will result in a price increase. We give it five stars for everything but the accuracy of the price of the home as they changed it on us as we were messaging them to book it. If you don't mind that then you will love this place. Five stars for everything else.

Holiday ski vacation with family

Land of Enchantment lives up to its billing. Charming property with all amenities one could want. Location is about as close as one can get without renting a condo in Ski Valley itself. Perfect spot to get away from it all for our first time in years. Prime shopping is as close as the ski slopes if you aren't a ski buff. Excellent communications with our hosts before and during the stay with written guidance and suggestions on everything involved with the stay. Certainly would see about staying there again.

Beautiful home at awesome location!

Casa de Cuentos is a beautiful home with incredible views of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and Taos Plateau. The house looks at least as good -- if not better -- than the photos posted by Tammi and Dave. It is quiet, peaceful and comfortable. Loved using the hot tub after a day of hiking. Made s'more on the outside firepit. The 360-degree views from the second-floor bedroom are amazing -- our son loved sleeping up there. All the beds were comfortable. Lots of living space for a six-person group like ours to spread out. Tammi was always prompt in response to questions we would ask her. It is clear that she and Dave have spent a lot of time keeping the property in top shape. I would definitely recommend Casa de Cuentos for families and friends looking for an awesome Taos base camp.

Great base for Taos exploration

The property is comfortable and well appointed. Our family of five had plenty of room to spread out inside, and we enjoyed all the outdoor spaces, too. The location is convenient for lots of hiking options around the enchanted circle. The owners are easy to communicate with. Great stay!

Great Taos getaway!

The house was lovely, so much space and everything we needed. Amazing views. The hosts are incredibly responsive and attentive. We would definitely come back!

House of Stories and Wonderful Memories

This is the second time our family has stayed in this beautiful home and it is our favorite out of the many properties we have stayed in throughout the years. The views of the surrounding mountains are phenomenal and the addition of the upper story studio completes the package! Plenty of room for families or friends to gather (inside and out) and the kitchen is well-stocked. We definitely plan on returning!

Perfect home to visit Taos

We had a great experience overall from booking, arrival and stay. Tanmi and Dave are clearly experienced and professional. The house was clean, well appointed and comfortable. The design was fun which allowed for 4 young girls to have a very enjoyable loft experience together. There are multiple areas to relax and the mountain views from the main living area are spectacular. It was the perfect base for us to have for all the snow adventures that we did. The only complaint is that the week went by too quickly! We would love to come back.

Perfect Hideaway in Taos

This property has a remote feeling even though you are only 10 minutes from some amazing places. The location really can’t be beat. We were able to easily access Red River, the gorge, Taos Ski Valley and Taos. The house was immaculately clean and very well appointed. Seriously have all the comforts of home here. The outside living space is perfect for a relaxing evening. The upstairs art room kept our littles busy for hours throughout the trip. The kitchen is easy to prepare home cooked meals in which made eating-in much more enjoyable. We did need assistance at one point In our trip and the owners answered and assisted on the first ring. They were kind and prompt and provided excellent communication from the beginning of the booking until the end. Will absolutely return.

Clean, comfortable and perfect!

We enjoyed out stay at Casa De Cuentos immensely. Tammi and David take great care of the home. The property offers a number of really nice amenities and special spaces. We struggled making up our minds where we wanted to hang out, Shaded patio? Hot Tub? Artist's nook? Cushy Comfy couch in the bar/living area? Fire Pit? After a long day of sight seeing, it was such a pleasure to come home to Casa de Cuentos! We now plan for Casa de Cuentos to be our staging waypoint for trips to the west. We also enjoyed the day trips out of Arroyo Hondo; Enchanted Circle, Santa Fe, John Dunn Bridge and the Rio Grande Gorge, D H Lawrence's Ranch, Taos Ski Valley. This property is highly recommended!

Beautiful views, kitchen was well stocked for cooking anď enjoyed outdoor area. Loved the separate living areas. Sleeping and bathroom areas didn't fit our family dynamics the best but we were very pleased with property.

Much needed escape

Our time at Casa de Cuentos was exactly what we needed. A wonderful base to go explore from and relax in when we got back. The views from the property were stunning and if you don’t take time to enjoy the stars from the hot tub, are you even trying? Tammy and Dave were excellent hosts, curating a host of recommendations for dining and adventure and always replied quickly to our questions. We cannot wait to return!

We currently live in this-our home. We are building a new home and will rent this out until May 2026. At that time, we plan on putting this property up for sale.

We, the Clancys, purchased our vacation/future retirement home property in 2007. We had often visited Taos and enjoyed our short stays. It was during the filming of a short, indie-film for a friend, with Taos as the location, that Tammi declared she wanted to retire in Taos. The Taos Magic blessed that statement. We have had the most amazing guests and they have all added to the charm of our home. Casa de Cuentos-our original home first purchased in 2007-and, now there is a second home on the property that Dave built--Casita Ave Maria, too. Tammi is a retired English/Theater teacher and Dave was a house inspector for the state of New Mexico. Now, he is building houses. We both clean and maintain and manage our rentals.

We have a short-term casita on the same property which we also manage and clean. It has its own yard, parking space and hot tub. It is completely private and separate from the “ big” house.

After a bit of remodeling, we decided to try the vacation rental business and we have loved renting our home out for others to enjoy! We have had the most amazing guests and they have all added to the charm of our home. We moved here full-time in 2012 and have purchased two other homes since 2007. Dave maintains and cleans our vacation rentals and keeps the home fires burning! Tammi is in charge of booking and guest communications and is Dave's cleaning assistant. Our homes are sparkling clean.

We will clean this house during your rental period, every two weeks. We will clean the floors and bathrooms and do a wipe down of the kitchen.

Dave will maintain your hot tub with cleanings and chemical balancing during your stay. He will also pick up your trash from the garage once a week.
