Southwest Quadrant holiday lettings

We consider ourselves so fortunate to have discovered this home for our multiple family get-together for Thanksgiving. The house is incredibly well furnished, comfortable, and is in a great location. The host was so accommodating and available; she went above and beyond on so many levels.

Firstly we can't praise the host highly enough. Great communication, and provided lots of useful information. Also very kindly compensated us when we missed our first night in the house as our flight was cancelled due to bad weather. The house itself is wonderful.Really charming and full of personal touches which make it so welcoming and homely. It was immaculately clean, and whilst obviously ideal if you have a dog,with bowls, food and bed provided, don't let that put you off if you're not a dog owner. There's no doggy smells! The beds were comfortable. The shower was good, plenty of towels and nice toiletries. The kitchen was well stocked , and the host had provided a lot of grocery items, oils, spices, etc. Plus there's a great grocery store nearby for your provisions. The house has a small outside area with table and chairs, which was an added bonus. The neighbourhood is fantastic. We felt really safe. Just a 10 min cab ride to the airport, 15 mins into DC. King Street a 10 to 15 minutes walk away is full of great eating places and shops. There's the train station at one end and the waterfront at the other. You can get a water taxi into DC and they also do water tours. There's a free bus which runs virtually the full length of the street. Only slight negatives are the stairs maybe an issue if unsteady on your feet. Also the house is by quite a busy junction and the traffic builds early, so bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper. That said would happily book again.

Perfect location, Alexandria is beautiful on its own but on the doorstep of DC with easy quick and cheap metro to all the sites. Perfect place, accommodation is spacious, beautifully presented and comfortable, perfect hosting with lots of accurate information on the listing, helpful and timely contact pre arrival and timely check ins throughout our stay.
