About Karen Heath
Our family has been coming to the lake for nearly 60 years. We own the two adjacent houses (a contemporary and a classic Adirondack Lodge) and can rent all 3 houses, which sleep, collectively, over 30 people. We live in various parts of the country, the closest in Vermont, and have a multi-generation gathering every summer at the lake to relax, swim, paddle, do yoga, cook great meals, read books, and mostly just enjoy each other. It is our absolute favorite place to be!
Why Karen Heath chose Lyon Mountain
Watch the sunrise from your bed, take a midnight dip in the lake on a hot night, sit by the fire as it gets dark, relax on the dock or in an Adirondack chair while the kids play in the water, lie in the hammock and read, take a mountain bike ride through the woods, explore the lake by kayak or canoe.....
What makes this cottage unique
Chateaugay Lake itself is incredible special--uncrowded, clean, serene, quiet, with lovely mountains around. And this property has one of the nicest, most private waterfronts on the lake. The house was built in the 1930's on a site right on the lake, which would never be allowed now due to setback regulations. You can lie in the upstairs bedroom and watch the reflection of the sun on the lake dancing on the ceiling, or sit on the porch and watch kids play in the lake.
