Located just 7 miles from downtown Auburn and Auburn University in the sleepy historic town of Loachapoka, this house is ideal for families coming to tour the University, sporting events, graduation, or for a simple country getaway.
The MilkBarn Guesthouse was originally built in 1940 as a cow milking barn. Fully renovated in 2017 as a guesthouse, it has a full kitchen with all new appliances, heart pine countertops, gorgeous bathroom with a clawfoot tub [please note this tub has a shower hose feature but no walk-in shower] sleeping loft, wifi, tv with dvd and wii, and a cozy living space with electric fireplace console. Updated on the inside with an old Alabama feel. Decorated with framed show posters and art by local artists. Large, fully fenced-in yard with gate. Plenty of parking is available!

Sleeps 6, open floor plan, private, and quiet. The loft features 2 twin beds, perfect for the little explorers. Main floor features a queen bed, double bed, and a futon which expands to a queen.
Owner lives on adjacent property with a shared drive and fence line. Very peaceful, yet convenient to charming Auburn and less than 5 minutes from University Staion RV Park.
5 miles from the Auburn University Vet School.

Pet Policy:
We welcome well-behaved house-trained dogs who are up to date on shots. The Milk Barn yard is fully fenced when the gate is closed, but we ask that dogs not be left outdoors unattended for long periods or outdoors overnight. This is for their safety. Please confirm you’ve read the pet policy when placing your reservation. Thanks!

We enjoyed our stay so much! The Milkbarn is such a cute, cozy place. There was coffee and all the fixings. Everything was very, very clean. The beds were comfy. The yard was huge and fenced so our doggies enjoyed playing safely back there. Our college kids came by in the evenings, and we had some fun competing on the Wii. We highly recommend the Milkbarn and will be checking back in to see if we can stay again.

The best and most gracious host in the business! Every detailed amenity has been well thought out from back-up toothbrush to coffee creamer. Fully decked out kitchen with utensils. Nice, quiet country setting. Yet 15 quick minutes to Jordan-Hare Stadium. This can be your home away from home when visiting Auburn. Very cozy, very nice, very gracious and friendly host!

I really enjoyed my stay at the farmhouse especially being able to vacation and bring my five dachshunds with me. Probably 99% of VRBO owners would not allow five dogs and Wayles was very accommodating. I appreciated the attention to detail and provided everything that I could have needed while on vacation – from make up remover to a toothbrush to Keurig coffee pods. I also appreciated the Christmas gift basket she left me and extra towels for my pups!. Would definitely stay there again.

It’s quaint, cozy, and had everything we needed—clearly very well-stocked and thoughtfully prepared for guests. We only wish we had more time to enjoy all the amenities!The location is great! It is close enough to Auburn University to make getting around easy, but far enough to avoid the crowds if you prefer a quieter stay.The only downside was the bathroom setup. There isn’t a traditional stand-up shower or a tub with a full surround/curtain, so it was a bit tricky to keep water from spraying onto the floor.Overall, a lovely spot and a great place to stay near Auburn!

65th Birthday Celebration

“Extraordinary Friends” coming from GA and AL met here to celebrate one of our friends turning 65. The milk barn was the perfect spot for us to hang out and visit with one another. What a cozy and cute place! We all slept so well last night and enjoyed coffee on the deck this morning. A Delightful Gem

Milk Barn is a charming guest house, outfitted with every convenience a guest could want or need! The ambiance is warm, welcoming, artsy and like home. A beautiful place with the most awesome host!

We had a mixup in booking that was 100% my fault, but our host was able to accommodate us, which she completely didn’t have to do. I can’t express how much it means to me that she was super responsive and accommodating! The place was peaceful and perfect, and it’s apparent how much time and energy was put into making this place feel like home. We definitely plan on booking again. My only complaint is that I didn’t get to stay long enough!
