If you locate 370 Great Island Road on Google Earth, the beach just to the South of that is known as 'White Gate Beach' . We have deeded rights to about 100 yards of that section of pristine beach.


2025 will mark our 21st season renting our family home. Many of our bookings are repeats, one family has stayed with us for sixteen summers, one for 10 years! Peeks of Nantucket Sound from the upper deck. If you look, you can catch glimpses of the Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard Ferries as they round the tip of Great Island and head out on Nantucket Sound. We have refurnished the living room and media room with very comfortable new sofas & side chairs and refurnished all three primary bedrooms as well as our loft sleeping area. In recent years, we redid the kitchen floor in top-of-the-line hardwood to match the rest of the house, added High def TVs with Netflix, Disney+ HULU and Amazon Prime, we also have a 24 hr Italian station (RAI) if you want to try your language skills! Central Air on first floor, window units on second floor. We have three updated Samsung TV's, all with HDMI connectivity (5 TV's in all). We have a brand new Nordic Trac Eliptical machine in the master suite.

One of our guests wrote:' We had a wonderful two weeks at your Great Island home this summer. We love the house. It's beautifully decorated and very well equipped. The neighborhood is so quiet- just the way we like it. The heated pool is just delightful. Our kids loved that room (referring to the Loft over the garage). It was a great idea to add that room this year. ... The house has loads of living space, so your guests would not feel crowded. .. Thank you for sharing your home with us.' Another of our guests wrote 'We had a fabulous time at your home. Thank you for opening your home to us.' On of our guests wrote: 'Thank you for sharing your wonderful shore house with us. We had an awesome time!!! The sunset last night was the most beautiful my family and I had ever seen'.

Our guests have come from New York, California, Chicago, Ireland, Scotland, Connecticut, Wisconsin, New Jersey, Washington state, Florida, Canada, as well as every New England state.

We have sold out from late June through mid September for each of the past twenty seasons. Our goal is to earn a five star review from each of our guest families!

The head of our cleaning team wrote: "I meant to tell you yesterday that the past couple of weeks the growth and flowers in your yard are amazing and magical. I wouldn't leave the house or the yard if I were on vacation. Your house is by far one of the nicest rentals out of the 50 we tend to and you should be at the top of any rating list there is. You should know this. Good job."

Our summer rentals are from Saturday to Saturday. Saturday is our change over day.

NOTICE FOR 2025 SUMMER SEASON: The state of Massachusetts has enacted a tax on summer rentals, which is 14.45 % of the rental amount. This is made of 5.7% state tax, 6% town tax, 2.75% Cape Wastewater tax. This, I am told, brings us in line with the tax charged on area hotels and motels.

In the event of CANCELLATION we will make every effort to re-rent the property at the best price we are able to obtain at the time. We will be happy to refund the difference between what you paid and what we are able to recoup, minus any out of pocket expenses such as booking fees or commissions. Bear in mind most of the families in this price category book their vacations well in advance, and as the time approaches we may not be able to get full rate. There is no cancellation fee as such. For Twenty years, we always been able to re-rent cancelled weeks at full rate!
