The house is a typical example of what we call in the region "a fumacienne‘ "and it is located in the protected area of the castle opposite.
Beautiful terrace with garden table, garden furniture, barbecue and small house to park your bikes safely.
Modern kitchen with full equipment, dining room and separate living room.

(40 km to go in both directions for unlimited pleasure)

For those who love adventure there is ‘Terre Altitude’ with the possibility of climbing or daring the ‘Death Ride’.
For children the wonderful Elfy Park in Les Mazures very close to the Lac des Veilles Forges, ideal place for a swim or a walk.

Geweldig verblijf!

Wat een prachtige woning. Veel ruimte voor een groter gezelschap (wij waren met 8 - 10 personen). Grote slaapkamers, mooie tuin en het is van alle gemakken voorzien. Sfeervol ingericht en het huis heeft zelfs drie badkamers. We vinden het een echte aanrader en hebben hier heel fijne dagen doorgebracht.

Pareltje in de Franse Ardennen

De gîte ligt in een meander van de Maas. Het is een plek waar je echt tot rust kan komen. De parking ligt op 50 meter van het huis wat het laden en lossen gemakkelijk maakt. Vanaf dat je de deur opent, kom je thuis. Het is huiselijk ingericht met oog voor detail. Het is de eerste maal dat we een huis huren dat zo compleet is uitgerust om een grote groep te ontvangen. Er is meer dan voldoende opbergruimte. De slaapkamers zijn ruim voorzien van kasten en de bedden liggen zalig. Bij mooi weer is het heerlijk vertoeven in de tuin. Wij bezochten onder andere Rocroi, Fort van Sedan, Charleville-Mézières, het treinmuseum in Treignes, een brouwerij en maakten wandelingen in de buurt. De communicatie met de eigenaar verliep zeer vlot. Kortweg een absolute aanrader!

très beau séjour

Nous avons passé les fêtes de noël en famille dans ce très bel endroit. La maison est spacieuse, confortable et très bien entretenue. le contact avec Véronique a été cordial et très efficace. Merci pour le superbe sapin et les décorations. Tout était parfait pour passer de beaux moments ensemble

Maison confortable et généreuse

Très bon séjour pour 4 couples. Maison bien restaurée et bien équipée avec jardin agréable. Bien située dans le village près du quai sur la Meuse et pour les visites des sites de la vallée de la Meuse et de la Semois.

Ein stilvolles, großzügiges Haus mit wunderschönen Garten.

Ein geschichtsträchtiges, stilvolles und großzügiges altes Haus, mit wundervollem Garten in einem sehr schönen Ambiente, wenige Meter von der Meuse entfernt, welches die Atmosphäre der Umgebung auch selbst ausstrahlt. Die Ausstattung lässt es an Nichts vermissen und PKWs können wenige Meter vom Haus sicher abgestellt werden. Viele Aktivitäten sind in der Umgebung möglich und Entspannung findet man im Haus und im Garten wie selbstverständlich. Es ist sehr empfehlenswert.

Ideal für einen Kurzurlaub

Schönes, sehr gepflegtes altes Haus, top-ausgestattet, wenige Meter von der Maas entfernt, wunderschöner alter Garten mit vielen Sitzmöglichkeiten Wir waren als Gruppe Ü 50 zu siebt unterwegs. Das Haus hat eine angenehm ruhige Athmosphäre mit hohen, sehr schönen Räumen. Die hervorragende Ausstattung in der Küche haben wir bisher in diesem guten Maße noch in keiner Unterkunft vorgefunden. Ob man an der Maas Fahrrad fahren oder in der Gegend wandern möchte. Beides ist unkompliziert möglich.

Heerlijk Eindejaarsweekend

Prachtig huis, smaakvol ingericht. Zeer goed geïnstalleerde keuken. En super goede bedden. Rustig gelegen in een stadje, vlakbij de Maas. Zeer goede verhuurders die veel informatie geven en snel reageren.

Perfekter Aufenthalt!

Wir haben ein Wochenende mit der gesamten Familie dort verbracht. Das wunderschöne Haus ist perfekt dafür, um gemeinsame Zeit mit der Familie zu verbringen. Das Haus ist perfekt ausgestattet und der Empfang war super! Kann ich nur empfehlen!

Amazing friends reunion in a beautiful place

We had a fantastic time! The house is perfect for a gathering with good friends. The kitchen is well equipped, the garden is beautiful, and the enclosed space was perfect for small children playing outside. We had a lovely time adventuring in the surrounding area, to the lake nearby and hikes in the forest. Everything was super clean and well organized, and the house has a lot of character. It was a wonderful trip, thank you!

Prachtig huis in heerlijke omgeving

Wat een mooi en gezellig huis. Wij hebben hier met een groep oud en nieuw gevierd. Het huis is ruim, van alle gemakken voorzien, mooi ingericht en comfortabel. De eigenaren reageren snel als je een vraag hebt en zijn ontzettend aardig. Zo mochten wij wat langer blijven op de dag van vertrek omdat we een lekke band hadden die gerepareerd moest worden. Met 2 kleine kinderen ben je dan erg blij dat je niet op straat staat :) De omgeving is ook prachtig er is veel te zien en te beleven. Wij komen graag nog eens terug!

Silvester/Neujahr mit Freunden

Wir haben die Tage rund um Neujahr mit einer Gruppe von zehn Erwachsenen und zwei Kleinkindern in La Fumacienne verbracht. Ein tolles Haus! Sehr viel Platz zum Verweilen, gemeinsam essen und alles (und sogar noch mehr!), was man in einem Ferienhaus braucht, stand uns zur Verfügung. Der persönliche Empfang von Yves und Geertje war sehr angenehm und auch die Kommunikation vor und während des Aufenthalts war immer reibungslos. Die Gegend lädt durch ihre Lage direkt an der Meuse, auch im Winter, zu vielen schönen Spaziergängen ein. Wir würden immer wieder dieses Haus wählen, sollten wir noch einmal in die Gegend reisen! Danke Yves und Gesetze!

Tolles, gemütliches und großzügiges Haus

Wir hatten mit 10 Personen ein wundervolles Wochenende in Fumay. Das Haus ist super ausgestattet und es hat uns an nichts gefehlt. Wir haben es sehr genossen, dass man sowohl im Esszimmer als auch im Wohnzimmer sehr gemütlich und ohne Platzmangel in großer Runde zusammensitzen konnte. Die Umgebung bietet viele Wandermöglichkeiten und der Garten des Hauses lädt auch zum verweilen ein. Der Kontakt mit den Vermietern war sehr unkompliziert und nett. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Charmant, familiär in netter Umgebung

Vielen Dank für diesen unvergesslichen Urlaub! Schon der herzliche Empfang in Fumay durch die Vermieter mit Führung durchs Haus hat uns gefallen. Auch waren die Vermieter jederzeit erreichbar u für alle Fragen offen. Viele touristische Ziele in der Nähe, sehr familienfreundlich. Wir, 4 Erwachsene u 3 Kinder habe den Aufenthalt sehr genossen, unsere persönlichen Highlights: die Zitadelle von Dinant Charleville mit seinen Schirmen u Patisserien und abendliches Lagerfeuer mit Stockbrot im Garten Immer wieder gern

Fumay Mansion on the Meuse

The owners were delightful to deal with and answered all queries promptly and in detail. The property exceeded our expectations. The rooms were tastefully decorated and generously proportioned and the secret walled garden was a lovely space for outdoor dining and relaxing.

Magnifique maison !

Absolument à découvrir! Magnifique maison, un accueil chaleureux et tout était très bien expliqué. La maison est très bien équipée, il nous manque de rien et avec son décoration "authentique" on a passé des très bons moments. On était à 8 personnes, mais il y avait largement de la place, même à 10 personnes sa suffit largement. Je pense que on va revenir.

Keurig, goed gesitueerde woning in de Ardennen

Prima vermaakt met 9 man in nette woning met goede uitval naar verschillende attracties in de buurt. Oude gerenoveerde woning, zeer netjes, correcte omschrijving en fijne tuin. Zeer aangename verhuurders die een schat aan informatie plus zelfs een speurtocht voor ons uitzetten

Fabulous House

We had a wonderful week staying at La Fumacienne in Fumay over New Year. We travelled from Australia to meet up with friends from the UK. The house was perfect for us all, 6 adults and 3 teenagers. The house has been renovated beautifully, is spotless and well maintained. It had everything we needed for a warm winter stay. Despite being Winter, we hired bikes from Givet and cycled along the Meuse, we also did several walks around the local area to nearby villages. Thank you Yves and Geertje for a memorable stay in Fumay. We hope to visit again one day.

Fabulous gite in great location

A beautiful, comfortable, very well equipped gite that was more spacious than we anticipated from the photos. The gite was lovely and clean, the beds comfy, the bathrooms very new with lovely showers. The garden was a haven with sunny and shady parts and having somewhere to store our 9 bikes was an added bonus. The little car park just up the road for the cars was very convenient as we were concerned by the lack of on site parking before we arrived. There were 2 supermarkets nearby as well as a bakery and a post office. We all enjoyed cycling on the wonderful car free cycle path along the river and the scenery was stunning. We were very sad to leave and could easily have stayed another week.
