About this property

COUNTRY HOUSE IN THE HEART OF THE VALLEY OF THE LYS

In the heart of the Lys valley, the house of Eliane will be pleased to welcome you on a weekend or week basis for an event with family or friends (up to 18 people).
In a fully enclosed garden, the house offers five individual rooms
1st bedroom: 1 bed 140x190
2nd bedroom: 1 bed 140x190
3rd bedroom: 1 bed 140x190, 1 sofa bed 140x190
4th bedroom: 1 bed 140x190, 1 bed 90x190, a cot
5th bedroom: 3 beds 90x190
Free Internet access.
The living room is also equipped with a convertible sofa for 2 people.
The bathroom on the ground floor has a shower, bath, sink, hairdryer and storage unit.
Upstairs bathrooms have shower, toilet, sink, hairdryer and storage unit
The kitchen equipped with a dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, oven, fridge and everything you need to cook like at home (fondue service, raclette, pierrade, plancha, dishes provided)
You will be able to discover the many historic monuments that the town of Aire sur la Lys has, but also take advantage of the surrounding hiking and biking trails.
Coast local markets: The market area on the lily takes place on Friday morning, that of Saint Omer (10 minutes) on Saturday morning

Perfect location for a quiet holiday

7 of us stayed for 5 nights in this lovely house. Very spacious with comfortable bedrooms. The large living/dining area was great and the garden area was fantastic. Our grandsons were more than happy playing ball games out there and feeding the chickens!

We spent a nice weekend in the house of Éliane with our entire family!We enjoyed some peaceful walks along the little rivers in the surrounding nature, had a great dinner at 'Le Moulin' in the village nearby, and benefitted from the sunny weather on the terrace.The small children especially appreciated the toys in the house, and the grown-ups had fun playing 'boules' in the garden. Two minor things we discovered during our stay:1. The bedroom with three single beds is actually an open space that you enter when going upstairs and through which you walk to enter the connecting bedroom. Hence these three beds do not have the same privacy as the remaining bedrooms.2. Tablets for the dishwasher are seemingly not included, but have to be bought or brought by the renter. Finally, the owner, Éliane, always responded politely and quickly to any question of ours. We kindly thank her for her hospitality.

Very very disappointed. Dirty and dangerous. Very tired decor and facilities.

We were a mix of older siblings children and grandchildren from around the UK for an annual weekend gathering. The septic tank overflowed into the garden just outside the back door/eating area covering the area with sewage. The owner did come and remove it by shovel and bucket but we had young children and it was a health hazard. The smell from the tank outside the front door was at times overpowering. The garden awning didn’t work. The two wooden outside loungers were very old. One was broken and unstable. The covers for them were stained and dirty. Crockery and cutlery and cook wear was dirty. The dishwasher didn’t work and overflowed leaving the kitchen floor constantly wet and slippy. Having to wash up by hand for 16 people detracted from the holiday. Cups had no handles. The stair to the bedrooms was seemingly held together by plywood and a few nails and wobbled with bits of it coming off in your hand. The upstairs en-suite bathroom had no door and no means of external ventilation. The garage (where there was an extra fridge) was almost chock full of old bits and pieces that looked like family detritus that should have been cleared away. The towels for which we had to pay were very thin, small and past their best. Decorations were peeling off the wall in the kitchen, main room and lavatories. We have experience of letting a holiday property so understand the challenges but also the reasonable expectations. Shouldn’t be let again until sorted.

Ruime vakantiewoning, veel kamers zodat ieder wel ergens zijn plekje vindt en op zijn gemak is. Ook ruime tuin met veel mogelijkheden. We hadden goed weer en hebben steeds kunnen buiten eten, leuk dat met een groep van 15 mensen.

Eliane est très sympathique et nous avons été très bien accueillis. La maison est spacieuse, bien décorée et très agréable, la cheminée apporte aussi une touche cosy. Un beau grand jardin avec deux petites poules et un coq,et la visite d'un pivert !Nos enfants , petits-enfants ,et nous même avons été enchaînés de notre séjour dans la maison d'Eliane.
