What makes this house unique

This house will remind you of your grandmother's house, and when you stay here, you will not have a care in the world. At 'The Flarity House,' there is always a gentle breeze and clean air. The huge trees in the yard cast a comfortable shadow on the front porch. This house has more native shrubs, trees, and flowers in the yard than any house on Lookout Mountain. There are numerous outdoor recreation opportunities in the area; including, the lake with fish in the back yard.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had a great weekend getaway! Our 2 year old loved fishing in the pond with his daddy and watching the neighbor cows. Unfortunately, the rain cut out trip a little short but we hope to visit the area again soon!

Cozy, quiet, and just like staying with grandparents!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our week-long stay at the farmhouse! This property is cozy and quiet and allowed our family and our dogs the opportunity to relax and unwind. Having the chance to fish in the pond whenever we wanted was an added bonus. This was our second time to stay here, and we will be back again.

Very sweet, cozy cottage for Easter weekend

  • 5 of 5

We stayed over the long Easter weekend with our 3 small boys and 2 puppies to spend some family time away hiking, watching movies, decorating eggs and visiting some of the local spots. We loved playing hide and seek, shopping in the unique town of Mentone, AL nearby and watching the stars at night after a gorgeous sunset. We would visit again and recommend this farmhouse retreat.

Overall, our stay was exactly as described and just what we were looking for.

This is a fully equipped farmhouse with everything you would need. There’s plenty of firewood, cozy beds and blankets, a large kitchen with all the necessities, large tv screen, friendly neighboring dogs, and lots of country charm

My wife and I loved it!

  • 5 of 5

This is a true/authentic farmhouse experience. If you want privacy and solitude you can’t go wrong here. Very private yet very convenient to nearby towns. This reminded me so much of my Grandmother’s home. If you want to just get away and relax without the chaos of everyday life, then the farmhouse is for you. The owners left very good instructions about everything and we had no issues. Plenty of wood stacked on the porch for those cold days and nights! Loved it!

Property itself is beautiful and charming but not a restful night.

  • 2 of 5

The property is beautiful and the house is a charming old farmhouse. But the bathroom had spider webs with spiders in the corners and the shower curtain had mold growing on it. This was disappointing after a long day of hiking and just wanting a clean shower. The worst part however was the dog who greeted us when we arrived. He barked at us but soon calmed down and was very cute and friendly. But 6-7 times during the night he was howling and barking furiously as if chasing something outside. It jarred us awake and would last 5 minutes or so each time. Super loud and impossible to sleep through. We had a very rough night and were not rested to enjoy the next day.
