This is not a manicured resort, but an authentic Tico experience: a private 20-acre property preserved to honor the native forest and Spanish architectural heritage. The villas are built in a Traditional Cultural Style designed for the tropical climate. Constructed in concrete, they are durable, permanent, and comfortable. Each villa features authentic Loseta de Barro, handmade clay tiles once reserved for Costa Rican golden estates. Chosen for their thermal properties, these thick tiles help keep floors and interiors refreshingly cool, even during the peak of the “Summer Season.” Each bathroom also features hand-painted Talavera tiles, individually kiln-fired for a brilliant, glossy, and timeless finish that reflects our commitment to cultural immersion. The property includes a seasonal tropical fruit grove with mango, citrus, and other trees that grow organically. We do not alter nature, we embrace it. A large troop of mantled howler monkeys often visits to feed on the fruit, along with iguanas, coatis, red‑tailed squirrels, butterflies, frogs, fruit bats, forest rabbits, scarlet macaws, and many other tropical birds. All wildlife is free, not captive, and sightings vary naturally throughout the day. This is a self‑guided stay. Food, drinks, and daily guest services are not provided. On‑site staff maintain the exterior grounds only and are not available for guest assistance. Guests bring their own supplies and enjoy the property independently as if you were at your own house. Convenience is close by: gas stations, supermarkets, pharmacy, restaurants, and bars are just minutes away. Across the street you’ll find an ice cream & coffee shop, a restaurant, and a souvenir/art store. While everything you may need is nearby, the property itself remains what our family likes to call a "Private Natural Reserve." It is a peaceful place built with love for the forest. We speak Spanish and communicate via this site to ensure accuracy. If you value space, comfort, and a genuine, organic connection to nature, we welcome you to the sanctuary. High-Speed Fiber Optic: Every villa is equipped with dedicated fiber optic internet 100 mbps perfect for digital nomads, streaming and video calls. For Power Users we can boost your speed up to 500 Mbps for an extra cost. This requires a 72-hour notice to activate. Please request this at the time of booking. All tours, entrance fees, and transportation are not included in the property rental and must be arranged and paid for by the guests separately. Day 1: Arrival & Unwinding. Take full advantage of the 20 acres. Spend the day relaxing by the pool and soaking in the unique architectural soul of the property. Visit the free entrance butterfly farm across the street & check the amazing art/souvenir shop. Important: Self-Managed Stay. This is a 100% independent estate. We do not provide concierge services. This itinerary is provided as a courtesy guide for self-sufficient travelers who wish to explore the region at their own pace. There are 7 total villas, the other 2 villas that are not part of this listing and have their own private pools. This retreat is for nature lovers. Guests have private access to their villa, and terraces, including all indoor and outdoor areas assigned to it. The pool house and main pool are available for your group. These areas are designed for relaxation, gatherings, and independent use. We refuse to pave these roads to keep the ground permeable for the roots of the trees and the migration of the coatis, paths are natural. You may walk or drive your standard vehicle to the villa. Drive slowly on the property, wildlife crosses roads. Access to the property is through a gated entrance, with a code provided on the day of arrival. Keys will be waiting at your villa door. Please note that storage and laundry areas are not accessible, but a wash and fold service is available upon request for a small fee. A Spanish-speaking property caretaker lives on-site with her family and her 2 pets in a completely separate area from the villas to ensure the security of the sanctuary. As a dedicated animal lover and guardian of the grounds, she maintains the natural paths while strictly respecting your total privacy. Note that She is the protector of the forest, not a concierge or day-to-day guest service. TWO SEASONS IN THE RAINFOREST * Green Season (May – November): The Rainforest in Full Bloom. Expect a lush, dramatically green landscape with warm, sunny mornings and refreshing afternoon showers (usually 2–4 hours). This is the absolute peak time for vibrant scenery, birdwatching, and listening to the soothing sounds of nature. * Dry Season (December – April): The Season of Sunshine & Stargazing. Sunny, warm, and breezy. During these months, the forest undergoes a natural transition, the canopy thins, and some trees naturally drop their leaves to conserve water. This seasonal change is a vital part of the ecosystem and makes it the absolute best time for spotting wildlife and photography. AUTHENTIC JUNGLE LIVING: WHAT TO EXPECT * Nature’s Natural Cycle: We embrace and protect the authentic, unaltered cycles of the rainforest. In the dry season, the landscape naturally becomes golden and dry, we do not use artificial irrigation, as this would disrupt the forest's natural rhythm. * Wildlife is Wild: Scarlet Macaws, toucans, and monkeys are messy eaters! They frequently drop fruits, seeds, and shells from the treetops onto the ground. We leave this untouched, as it is a critical food source to other wildlife and fertilizer for the forest floor ecosystem. A World-Class Celestial Theater: Much like the famous dark sky sanctuaries, our unique location near Carara National Park is completely free from city light pollution. At night, our skies transform into a breathtaking, pitch-black canvas where stars shine like diamonds. Step outside, look up, breathe, and witness a truly unforgettable celestial show. Camaras at the main entrance and pool area.

About the host
Hosted by Siney Calvo
Hola soy Eugenia. Please note: We are not a modern, American-style resort property with manicured gardens or golf carts. Aquí vienes a la naturaleza profunda. Somos un santuario vivo. Si esto resuena contigo, este es tu lugar.
Why they chose this property
Choosing this specific location on Costa Rica’s spectacular Central Pacific coast was a deeply intentional decision driven by a passion for raw, untouched biodiversity. This region represents one of the most vital ecological junctions in the country, a true biological corridor where the lush, dense rainforest directly meets the marine ecosystems of the coast. We chose this exact neighborhood because it offers travelers the rare and priceless luxury of complete seclusion without isolation. It is an authentic oasis away from the over commercialized tourist traps, concrete resorts, and crowded city centers, allowing our guests to experience the real, unadulterated rhythm of Costa Rican nature. What makes this neighborhood so spectacular is its positioning as a natural highway for native wildlife. Because the surrounding land remains heavily protected and undeveloped, our corner of the region serves as a thriving sanctuary for scarlet macaws, playful monkeys, toucans, and exotic frogs that fly freely across the canopy. Yet, despite feeling like you are deep in an uncharted jungle paradise, the location is strategically accessible. Within a short drive, your group can transition from the total tranquility of our forest to the local beaches, hidden natural waterfalls, and authentic regional towns. We chose this neighborhood because it provides the ultimate balance for an unforgettable group getaway: a private, secure eco-refuge where you can completely unplug from the modern world, while remaining perfectly positioned to explore the very best adventures that the Central Pacific has to offer. This is a self checking and self check out property.
What makes this property unique
Our property is not just a place to sleep; it is a sprawling, 20-acre private tropical sanctuary designed specifically for families and large groups seeking a culturally rich, immersive nature experience. What sets us completely apart from standard rental homes or corporate hotels is our unique integration of traditional Costa Rican architecture and raw wilderness. The estate features 7 individual villas accommodating up to 27 guests, constructed in a magnificent Spanish Colonial cultural style. Walking through the property is a visual and sensory journey; the villas are beautifully adorned with handmade Loseta de Barro (clay floor tiles) and vibrant, hand-painted Talavera-style tilework. This architectural soul creates an atmosphere of colonial and historic charm, keeping the spaces naturally cool and grounded while remaining entirely surrounded by forest.
