Amazing place Reel Therapy

The owners were very helpful with quick questions we had when we got there.. and place was as advertised and much more great location.. only complaint is the wifi didn’t work when we got there, but they already had a tech scheduled to come fix it while we were there and it wasn’t the property owners fault, so I hardly feel that is worth giving a bad review... overall the place was what it was supposed to be and more and the owners were extremely friendly and easy to work with great location right in the Venice marina... 10 stars in my book will definitely be my first call when we come back to Venice

Nice Place

Nice place. Beds are comfy, but the top bunks could use better access. it was chore to pull my 50 yr old fat self up there. lol. kitchen is well equipped but could use a bigger skillet. coffee pots were equipped for K-cups or regular drip. that was nice. the porch is a little smaller than i expected but we made it work. had room to park 3 bay boats, one in front and 2 on the side. we came to fish.... and this was sufficeint for our needs. will rent again.

Good location in Venice Marina.

At the end of a long dock so a little walk from the parking lot but so what! Great view of the marina and can easily dock two boats from the porch. Charter boat picked us up and dropped us off on the porch. Great ice machine, cold a/c, dock cart for hauling luggage and coolers. Very clean and everything works. Would stay here again.

Great Houseboat

Reel Therapy 2 is a perfect houseboat for a couple of families looking to share a weekend fishing in Venice. We had two families with 2 boats. There was plenty of room for our group of 9. Location is great and there was adequate room to park two 24' Bay Boats.

Just not what was expected for the price.

1- Entering the first day the door codes were confusing. The codes were reversed from what was on our paperwork. 2- The bathroom downstairs had a standard toilet seat on an elongated commode. Besides looking looking ridiculous it was a little hard to negotiate. 3- Four people in a room with a couch that only accommodates 3 people. No other place to sit but in straight back chairs. If 8 people were staying it would be a fight on who has to stand. 4- No light bulb in a lamp next to the couch. Poor lighting throughout the living area. 5- Only ONE coffee cup in whole place. 6- Only 3 lawn chairs for sitting on the patio. Again there was 4 of us.. 7- The Wi Fi codes posted on the wall were wrong. This place is advertised to accommodate 8 people and 4 of us were not exactly pleased with it. Very disappointing stay. We have stayed at various houseboats in Venice over several years but this one is the worst. I will not recommend staying. I will avoid using VRBO in the future.

Dear Bill, I hate so bad that our place did not meet your expectations. I do realize you have a choice while staying in Venice so hopefully the below explanations will explain some of the issues you wrote about. 1) I am so sorry about the codes. I have looked back at all information I sent you and verified codes I sent were correct. I have sent a email to VRBO about automated info they send and see if that's how it was sent. I can't access after merging our VRBO with our new website( this happen the week you were arriving). Hoping they can give me a answer. 2) I apologize about Wifi codes not being what was displayed. This has happen a couple times due to AT&T working on lines. Until we catch this or a guests report I can't have fixed. I am going to update signage to display the AT&T default info so in case our network name drops hopefully guest can get connected that way! 3) Completely at a lost about the coffee cups. We just refurbed all boats in January with extra utensils, cups, plates etc. Housekeeping will be checking this and replenishing right away. 4) The chairs are forever getting gone, due to wind blowing them away, or people dropping in the water. I will definitely get another 1/2 chairs for the deck. 5) Houseboats and maximizing space are a problem. We looked at this houseboat and pondered several layouts on seating but wanted to be able to provide a couch, table etc. so we thought this scenarios was best. I do realize it may not be ideal for everyone but this boat sleeps 10 people actually and is one of my busiest houseboats. I just bought new barstools so that does allow for some extra seating at the bar. I apologize for this not meeting your needs. 6) Maintenance overall in Venice can be a challenge. Our guys try to get things as fast as they can to accommodate the guests and sometimes that means they have to rely on what's available down around Venice instead of making a long drive to New Orleans. I am going to have them for sure look at the toilet seats in all and see if we can't better fix that back to correct seats. Thanks for your feedback being a Premier Partner I take all feedback positive or negative and work at making our places better. I hope that you would consider giving us another chance, Having 5 houseboats I'm sure I have one to meet your expectations. Thanks, Amy Morris

Thanks for your review and we look forward to having you back. If there was specific lights out please let me know and I will have this investigated. Of course not building something and designing yourself makes things like this a bit more difficult to remedy :) I will definitely look at adding some essential accent lights that could possibly help! Thanks, Amy

À propos de l’hôte

Hôte : Amy Morris- REEL Therapy Houseboat Rental

Image de profil de l’hôte
The love of fishing brought us to Venice over 15 years ago. Thru the years we have visited many times while fishing the SKA King Mackerel Circuit as well as the FLW Kingfish Series. In more recent years it has been more pleasure trips than tournaments that has brought us back. Venice has many names - "Fishing Capitol of the World"- "Tuna Town USA" and there is a reason behind this! Venice has come to be known as one of the BEST inshore and offshore saltwater fishing destinations in the USA! The inshore fishing is some of the most productive in the world. Where else can you go almost any day of the year and catch enormous Bull reds Or limit out on trout before lunch? The offshore fishing is "Off the Hook" hooking up with Yellowfin Tuna, Amberjack, Grouper and Cobia less than 15 miles from the dock! Nowhere else in the Gulf of Mexico can you go and catch the size and quantity of fish as Venice, LA. This is why we as avid fisherman had to have a place in this fishing mecca! Come Enjoy and See what this end of the world is all about! Tight Lines, Calm Seas & Fair winds to all.

Voici pourquoi l’hôte a choisi cet hébergement

This houseboat was designed with the guest in mind. This houseboat has something that families can enjoy, as well as a bunch of ole' fishing buddies or even couples! It's affordable, yet nice enough to bring clients and business associates for a weekend fishing adventure. When you consider that the nightly rate is virtually the same price as "2" motel rooms it makes the ideal solution and convenience of the whole group being able to stay together. The ease and convenience of not having to launch your boat each day or the lack of 'hang out' space at a motel, it only makes sense to stay with us. Convenience was definitely an important factor in our decision to locate at Venice Marina. This houseboat is situated on the tip of B dock, resulting in little wave action from commercial and recreational boat traffic in and out of the marina. By staying with us, you are only a short walk to the marina dock where you can meet your charter captain, if you are going out with one or you can have them stop right outside the front door of the houseboat to pick you up! The marina store is open early enough for you to grab those last minute supplies as well. If you want more information about guided fishing or hunting trips in Venice, don't hesitate to contact us for more information. We will happily recommend some of our favorites to you.
