Born and Raised in Plaquemines Parish I’ve fished Venice for over 40 years.
My family has fished and hunted the Delta for more than 75 years and has always maintained a camp or some type of residence in the Venice area.
Penny Rhodes ( look at Venice marine charts) was my Dad. His decades of commercial fishing, operating our charter service and pursuing his passion for fishing the inland and offshore waters of Venice was handed down to me at a young age.

The Grannie Sallie fish camp has been moored in Venice Marina for decades.
In 2023 my wife and I purchased the Grannie Sallie and began an out of water restoration of her hull.
She was placed on dry dock, sand blasted and painted, surveyed by a marine surveyor and then Returned to her slip in Venice Marina.
From there her exterior was refreshed, some deferred maintenance addressed, and her interior was painted.
We added amenities like a new washer and dryer, new bedding, linen, terry, installed a fish cleaning station, exterior furniture and made her ready for the rental market.


The Grannie Sallie Fish Camp is a comfortable, clean and convenient, well appointed houseboat rental in Venice Marina . She is very spacious boasting nearly 1000 sq feet of interior space for up to 6 guests.
Her land side location is a guest favorite. Her dock out back can accommodate any trailerable vessel
(up to two).
The Grannie Sallie Fish camp is located in Venice Marina. She is moored land side on dock A, slip #7., with dockside parking right outside your front door. The Grannie Sallie is a few steps from rodeo central Pavillon, CrawGators restaurant and bar, and the Venice Marina store. All the action is just steps from your front door.
If you are chartering a guide they can pick you up and drop you off at your back door!

Check in is 4:00 PM and check out is at 11:00 AM. We can make arrangements to accommodate early arrivals or late departures depending on business levels.

The Marina is very active with professional guides and sports fisherman departing and returning daily with amazing catches.
On most afternoons you can sit up in the restaurant and watch the charter boats offload their impressive hauls.
Venice is one of the most productive fisheries in the country and The Grannie Sallie is front row to all the action.
