The palazzetto has a private garden and is located in a charming campiello with a fountain and lively neighborhood cafes. It is 10 minutes from the Accademia Bridge. Two vaporetto stops are nearby. It is near the Church of San Nicolo' dei Mendicoli, one of the oldest in Venice, and near the venerable school of Architecture at Universita' Ca' Foscari. This is a vibrant Venetian Neighborhood, where saccy travelers can immerse themselves in Venetian life.
The apartment is architect restored with careful attention to traditional Venetian materials. Entrance features a mosaic of 14th century marble. Beamed ceilings throughout the building help make staying in this house an authentic Venetian experience. Pieces from my painting and photography collection are on display.
The extremely quiet apartment occupies the entire 2nd floor of the building, providing a light and airy atmosphere with good cross ventilation.
Two exquisite mosaic bathrooms include large shower, marble sinks and bidets. The stainless steel and wood kitchen/sitting room features a 19th century dining table and a great view of the campiello and local life that passes through it. The Master bedroom has two windows, double bed, wooden beamed ceiling and large closet. The study/second bedroom is reached through heavy wooden double doors. It is an independent, very elegant room with desk, wardrobe and private entrance and single bed + pull-out bed.
The house manager will greet you and acquaint you with the neighborhood so you feel at home right away.
Weekly maid service included.
Please see the Third Floor of this Building (Listing #161935) and the piano terra (Listing #956918). The apartments are separate but can be rented together to accommodate a group of 11.

Great location, beautiful apartment!!
This was the perfect spot for our family of 4. Loved the quiet neighborhood, only steps from restaurants with shops near by. The apartment is clean and beautiful and fully equipped. We would love to go back some day!
Location away from the tourist crowds...
Our family of 5 stated prior to a cruise. We took the water taxi for 130 Euro and it was easy to get one from the airport. You are dropped off about a block-ish from the apartment. The property manager was there waiting for us at 10:30 a.m. She showed us the important stuff and we had a great stay. We used the double bed, the two single beds which are a trundle, and the day bed in he kitchen as there were five of us. The air flow may be good but we needed to use the AC and it worked great. There was adequate room for us and our stuff. There are two showers but we just used the full shower with doors instead of the other one that is toilet and sink with a shower with no stall or enclosed area. The area was quiet and not many tourists wandering around. However, if you walk about 2-3 blocks you can find a small cafe with coffee and croissants or a bit farther and you are at the waterfront which has several restaurants and the grocery store. We walked all the way along the waterfront to St. Marks and then back via inside streets. We enjoyed the place. We pulled suitcases to the port to the ship and it took about 30 minutes and was pretty hot and sweaty. We wanted to save Euros for gelato though. The owner does provide a lot of information about he local area and the wifi was a benefit to look stuff up. Barbara was very responsive and made an effort to provide information up to our arrival date.
away from the madding crowd...
...but a short walk to everything one wants to find in Venice. We found the apt. to be charmy, cosy and comfortable. It was well-appointed and the owners have supplied their guests with many books and resources to enhance their stay. The Palazzetto was in a lovely, quiet neighborhood away from the tourist crowds of San Marco but a quick walk or vaporetto ride to all the beauties of Venice.
We hope to return and highly recommend this residence to others!
Of three places we stayed at over a 21 day period covering Positano on the Amalfi Coast and Tuscany this "Venetian gem" had, by far, the homiest feel. We stayed in the two bedroom 2nd floor apartment. More than the basic kitchen equipment needs, spices, music CD's, book shelves with interesting titles. We put the CD player on the window ledge and enjoyed the music while relaxing in the small private garden on the ground floor. The location is no more than a casual 15 minute walk from the train and bus station and a large grocery store is no more than a seven minute walk. This grocery store is a full line super market with lots of prepared food to choose from at very affordable prices. We enjoyed a nice roast chicken and roasted potatoes one night. If you want to save some money on eating out - this super market is the place. The apartment is close enough to walk to all the major sites without a strain but in a quieter neighborhood away from the crowds. We heeded some of the owner's restaurant recommendations and were not disappointed. One of the two bathrooms is conventional by American standards. The smaller bathroom is basically a large shower with a sink and toilet in it which might turn off some clients but we worked around it with one couple showering in the PM and the other couple showering in the AM - in the more standard bathroom which has a conventional shower/tub enclosure. Note that there is a rather steep staircase to the two upper floors but it did not present a problem for the four of us in our late 60's.
enjoy the place with my family
when i find the place at 430 am, i feel like winning the jackpot
Great proximity to everything!!
We were so happy with our accommodations in Dorsoduro! Natasha, the manager, was fantastic. She showed us everything we needed to know as well as where the grocery store and shops were. There are a lot of stairs going u to the apartment, but we were very great full to burn off some calories after the delicious food recommended In the area,
Thank you Barbara for sharing your wonderful home. We will be sure to recommend it to anyone traveling to the area!
Minutes away from lively Campo Santa Margherita full of restaurants, bars and Venetians. Right near the University of Architecture. 10 min walk from San Basilio and Accademia Vaporetto stops.
