About the host
Your host
My name is Mike I’m the owner of, Hidden Alaska Lodge and I would like to welcome you to the place I call home.
I started guiding in 1974, and worked my way up through the ranks to the status of Master Guide, where I hold license #M-80. Along the way I’ve been a trapper, a homesteader, a horse packer, and a river rafter. I am a Commercial Instrument Multi-Engine pilot, and in my former career as an Alaska Fish and Wildlife Officer, I even became a certified commercial diver. I own a lodge and several cabins and outbuildings, which I built with logs I felled on a remote parcel of land deep in the Western Alaska Range. I spend a good deal of the summer months out at the lodge, making improvements and generally keeping the place in good shape for our many guests. If anyone knows Alaska, I feel like I do.
