Páteo dos Oliveira - Casa dos Serviçais

Family's property since 1899. It is fully restored and distributed over 2 floors. The kitchen is on the ground floor and the bathroom, the bedroom and the living room are on the first floor. The 2 floors are connected by stairs.
The bedroom, with 18 m2, has a queen size bed .
Our house is equipped with: cable tv, Wi-Fi, fridge with freezer, microwave, coffee machine, kettle, hand blender, electric stove top, vacuum cleaner, air conditioning, fan and heater, iron and ironing board, washing machine, hairdryer and a boiler with 100 liters capacity
We will change your towels 2 times per week and the sheets 1 time per week.
This unit is located in the historical centre of the city, inside the city's walls, 400 meters from the Roman Temple, the Cathedral and the Municipal Museum and 600 meters from the Chapel of Bones.
Évora is also an excelent place to settle a base and visit the surrounding beautiful cities such as Monsaraz, Estremoz, Elvas, Vila Viçosa, Arraiolos (average distance: 50 km).

Expectations far exceeded

Luis and Antónia’s place is immaculate. I dare say that the pictures don’t do it justice as when we first entered, we saw a beautifully remodeled apartment with everything picture perfect. The pride that Luis and Antónia take in their rental property is evident. But beyond the apartment, Luis and Antónia are two wonderful hosts who want to make your stay as memorable as possible. In addition to some welcoming gifts, they prepared a map with their personal recommendations and even made some particular food suggestions. Our one regret is that we only stayed two nights as there are so many GREAT dining establishments in Évora.

The beautifully restored historic apartment (the ceiling!) was within walking distance of everything we wanted in the lovely city of Évora. And our hosts — Luis and Antonia — were wonderful, providing us with a detailed map, recommendations and more.

Lovely place - Attentive Hosts

Unlike more and more listings, this is authentically a rental by owner. They live next door, have done a lovely job of restoring the property, and do a great job of providing information on the unit and the community. One issue to be aware of is that the steps upstairs in the unit are steep and the risers are high. If you are have knee or hip issues this might be a challenging unit for you to occupy. a

Comfortable, classic, and great location!

My husband and I stayed for three nights in this comfortable rental. It has everything you need to feel at home and the location in the historic center can’t be beat! We enjoyed a relaxing stay and would recommend this spot for people traveling in a pair!

Hidden Gem in Evora

We flew into Lisbon and were looking for a quiet place to spend our first few nights getting over jet lag and we found the perfect retreat at Pateo dos Oliveira, in Evora. The bed was so comfortable that we slept 12 hours the first night. The air conditioning is new and works well. The area was very quiet. The apartment is newly renovated and very modern but the owners kept important artifacts from the ancient home to add architectural interest, like exposed arches and vaulted ceilings. Antonia and Luis were more than great hosts who spoke English, they were lovely friends who told us about all of the best places to visit in Evora and the surrounding area. Getting to meet Antonia, Luis and their sweet, smart son, Santiago, was a wonderful experience and made our trip so much richer than just being tourists. Don’t miss this hidden gem in Evora!

Fantastic property and hosts.

The property is very clean and well maintained. Location is great, inside the walled city and within a few hundred yards of all the cities best features. Luis and Antonia are the owners, they greeted us upon arrival to explain the walled city and surrounding area. They also gave us a gift, a bottle of wine and some local cheese. They have it together, a class operation.

Wonderful Evora experience

Luís and Antonia could not have been nicer or more helpful! When our GPS sent us the wrong way and we couldn’t find the parking lot, Luís talked us to the right place and carried our bags to the apartment! The apartment was comfortable, nicely situated to explore Evora, and Luis and Antonia gave us a great orientation to the city with great recommendations. (I’m just sorry we missed some of those restaurants). When we couldn’t quite figure out the washing machine, he came right over to get it straightened out. By the time we left, I truly felt we had made new friends. This is a wonderful spot to explore Evora. Thank you, Luís and Antonia

Peaceful and pleasant

My partner and I loved this place! The owners met us when we first arrived and made us feel immediately welcome. They provided us a handy list of things to do and places to see while we were there. Our first night stay was peaceful and quiet. Having this charming place to come home to after our sightseeing made the whole experience even better. Also, there's a small grocery store nearby with all you need to cook a nice meal in the kitchen, if you want. We ate in a few times in the downstairs section and had a friend over as well. We highly recommend this place.

Perfect for Evora

Perfectly located little house that was great for two! Easily walking to all the places we wanted to see and restaurants. A few little grocery stores nearby. Our hosts were very helpful, especially as we were there over Sunday/Monday when many restaurants are closed. They gave some great suggestions.

Staying and meeting Luis and Antonia was an absolute and memorable experience. They both carved out a time to meet with me, sharing points of interest, asking me what I liked and recommending restaurants, bakeries based on what I had expressed. They are both great communicators and were pleasantly accommodating. I really appreciated each and every little thing they did to make my stay a safe and happy place. I absolutely love Evora because of them and will definitely return.

Amazing Space & Location!

Easy to access and clean! Had a wonderful time with the best recommendations from our host. Air Conditioning in the main bedroom was the cherry on top for us during the heatwave of summer. Slept like babies! Located close to an exterior parking area (10 min walk), we rolled our bags in and also had an easy walking route to all the tourist sites. Luis & his wife we’re welcoming and so helpful in the many questions we had about the city! They even provided a map and list of top places to visit and restaurants. 10/10 would recommend to all friends and family.

CLEAN, QUIET, LARGE COMFORTABLE APARTMENT on 2 levels. Has AC in bdrm but did not need to use as weather cools in the evenings. Full functioning kitchen. Easy to explore the town from this location. Gracious and helpful hosts -by far the best experience in our Portugal trip. Highly recommend.

Modern comforts in a charming ancient city

The accommodations were wonderful. Made us feel like we were at home. The location is perfect within in the city walls and near all the important sites. The photos accurately reflect the home. Luis and Antonia provided a wealth of information on check in as well as wine, bread and cheese. What more do you need? They went above and beyond our expectations to make us feel welcome. Take advantage of all they have to offer. Would definitely recommend staying in their rental and certainly hope to return.

Beautiful Casa in Evora

Luís and Antónia greeted us at the property with gifts of wine, cheese and bread. They took time and care to show us the house and had maps and written information about Évora and the surrounding area. The casa was clean and nicely furnished and appointed with everything we needed to be comfortable. We highly recommend Casa do Becca Forçada n 6

Lovely Evora

Wonderful hosts, Antonia and Luis, were a delight. They gave us a detailed intro to the house and area, brought us unscented laundry soap, and kept our bags the last day while they cleaned and then met us in town to give us a ride to the station! Take the megalithic tour with them if you can and don't miss going to lunch with them afterwards!

Wonderful hospitality

Among the many apartments we have rented over the years this was one of our all-time favorites. Though being in a very old building in an old neighborhood the apartment was very well refurbished. Despite the oddity of having the living room on the top floor with the bedroom with the kitchen downstairs, the apartment had everything we needed. The location was great, in the old quarter and convenient to everything we wanted to see. What put this rental over the top was the hospitality of owners Luís, Antónia and their son Santiago. Antónia prepared a customized list of suggestions of things to see and restaurants to visit, all of which were first-rate. They also offered us a special tour to some sites in the area which we had chosen. We piled in the car with them and our afternoon felt more like our being allowed to join them on a family outing than a sterile tour. We left Évora feeling like we'd not only experienced a fascinating town but that we'd made new friends. We can't recommend staying at this place highly enough.

Charming Centrally Located Gem

Our 3 day stay at Luis and Antonia ' s cozy, immaculately clean apartment was perfect. We had everthing we needed. Antonia and Luis are wonderful people who are helpful with tips on what to see and where to eat. One if the best restaurants they mention is practically across the street from their place. The Internet is fast and you get many English and international channels.Its also so quiet and the bed is so comfortable that's it's hard to get up in the morning and start the sightseeing.You will not be disappointed staying here. Thank you Antonia and Luis for sharing your home.

Amazing

Luis and Antonia were so welcoming! The provided us with a list of very interesting places to visit and not just the main tourist destinations. The house was great for two people. About 3-4 steps down you have a large eat in kitchen. Up stairs you have a large living room and large bedroom. They put a bed in the living room for us. I was really impressed. Both beds were super comfortable, some of the best I've experienced. I was particularly impressed that the second bed was a bed and not a cot! Just the experience of staying in a medieval building in a medieval town was amazing! Ok, it means that the rooms have odd nooks and crannies, but Luis and Antonia used the spaces really well. I. Addition, they've opted for really good Windows and a tight fitting door, which keeps the house quiet quiet if you want to sleep in. But with so much on your doorstep, you'll want yo get an early start. I'd advise parking outside the wall and walking in. It's about 10 minutes, but much easier than driving on the narrow cobble streets. We just drove in to pick up the bags. I would absolutely stay here again!
