You will sleep in a 16th century house with modern comfort, located on the ramparts in the very quiet historic district of Avallon. This house has a large room of 35m2 accessible by the three steps of the porch, then by the staircase in the turret with narrow steps (for people alert). Private bathrooms. Breakfast and linen provided. Possibility of additional sleeping 20 €. Swimming pool in summer. Many restaurants, museum and exhibition within walking distance, as well as the collegiate Saint Lazare adjoining. Vézelay is about ten km.
It is a family house built with hidden wood. Inhabited by lawyers since the eighteenth century, near the old court and prison, it has remained unoccupied for nearly a century. The renovation sought to retain the nineteenth-century ambience she still possessed in 1970 when starting her new life as a romantic holiday home. Now home again, the house, built by Canon Nicolas in 1530, adjoins the former dimois barn, the current home of the owners, built with remnants of the feudal city.
