Well-appointed four-bedroom, one-bath home. The property is clean, comfortable, and very well stocked. However, future guests—especially regular Expedia users—should be aware of something important:
This listing charges per person, even though it is a full-property rental.
Unlike typical Expedia whole-home bookings, you must carefully read all the fine print because using the additional bedrooms can trigger extra fees. This is not something I’ve ever encountered on Expedia before, as full-property rentals traditionally include all bedrooms by default. We invited a couple of friends to stay with us—thinking nothing of it since we had booked the entire house—and were surprised with additional charges after the stay. Make sure to review every detail of this listing so you understand exactly what the owner considers “additional usage.”
Another critical thing for travelers to know: the house sits directly across the street from active railroad tracks and a crossing. Trains run throughout the day and much of the night, and the engineers sound their horns right in front of the property. If you’re not a very heavy sleeper, expect significant noise and interrupted rest.
The home itself is nicely maintained and well equipped, but travelers should be fully aware of these factors before booking—especially given the cost of lodging in Chester, Montana.
When staying in Chester, you can always count on your stay at Patty’s apartment. Breakfast food provided, clean sheets and towels, everything you need. We will return next summer!

The apartment is the entire second floor in perhaps the only two-story building in town (a brick bank listed on the national register). Well-stocked refrigerator for breakfast (and even dinner), lots of living space, superb communication with responsive owner. Thank you.
This apartment is just as advertised, but better! Pictures are accurate and couldn’t be more satisfied with our stay. What makes this place special is the owner, Patty. Not only is she accommodating by having eggs, bacon, sausage, and English muffins in the fridge for you to prepare if you wish, but she is as attentive as can be. We had a logistical challenge at the end of our stay and she was more than willing to offer a solution, which we accepted and greatly appreciated. Patty has some other offerings in town that I can only assume are great, because she is involved.
We stayed here for a swim meet. The hosts were amazing and the unit was very nice, clean and comfortable. We left a bag behind and the hosts went out of their way to help us get it back timely. So courteous and genuine.
