Vaison-la-Romaine la Romaine
When we got in the property it was just what we had expected and was very good in an excellent location
There was s problem getting onto your Ap and although we messaged the owners that we had arrived it was over an hour before we were met, thanks to help from a nearby restaurant.
Eventually we met the owners who were delightful and we had a very good stay for four nights. We were a little surprised that we had to pay 30 euros for basic cleaning and we wait to receive the 300 euros paid as a security deposit.
However, we would very much recommend this property and the owners for its location, facilities and eventual welcome.

Very good equipment and good location.
Vaison-la-Romaine is best known for the archaeological heritage which it takes its name. However, we must not reduce its historical richness to what was buried, the Roman bridge, the medieval town on the left bank of the Ouvèze, the Cathedral of Our Lady of Nazareth and its cloister attract too many visitors.
Vaison-la-Romaine is on the road of the Princes of Orange. This route was used by the Princes of Orange (Orange dynasty which ruled from 1115 to 1702) to reach their barony of Orpierre.

Castle of the Counts of Toulouse.
Our Lady of Nazareth. Vaison-la-Romaine is a medieval city of art and history.
The Castle of the Counts of Toulouse: Perched atop a steep rock, the castle of Vaison, was for centuries a powerful fortress of Vaison in Vaucluse. Built in 1195 by Raymond V, Count of Toulouse and Marquis of Provence, he replaced a tower destroyed by Bérenger bishop of Reilhane. The bishop was unable to hunt excommunication by the workers employed by Count Raymond who passed on to the Episcopal wrath and the castle soon dominated the city. The castle amputated his defense and the keep beheaded preserves beautiful buildings. He recalled the struggles between the counts and bishops usurpers of their rights. Alphonse de Poitiers, brother of St. Louis, who had married the daughter of Raymond VII, imposed restitution to the bishops of those rights by making an award 30 December 1351.
Notre-Dame de Nazareth

The cloister: Left of the choir in the apse is accessed the cloister, which has retained three of its original galleries (twelfth and thirteenth centuries, the Southeast was restored in the nineteenth century). It is one of the finest Romanesque art. His twin archways, columns are of complete artistic. Built in the tenth century by the canons of this chapter, it was repaired by Bishop Joseph Marie Suares in the seventeenth century and completely restored in the nineteenth century by Mr. Revoil, departmental architect.
