The house of the Orangery

The Orangerie welcomes you in a walled garden of 3000 m² planted with fruit trees and roses. Renovated in 2018, the house (43 m²) has an independent bedroom, a bathroom and a large living room with a fully equipped kitchen. All overlooks the garden and meadows in a quiet, preserved and authentic. The house is close to another house The house of the Potager, also available on the site, and located 30 m from that of the Orangery.

It is also possible to book an additional independent room located just behind the Orangery. It is equipped with 2 beds (90 x 200) that can be joined and has a shower and separate toilet.

The laundry room, common to both houses, has washing machine, dryer, iron and ironing board.
In the large garden that opens in front of the house: tables and loungers are at your disposal as well as bicycles.
A charcoal grill is also available.

The neighborhood
The village of Vérigny is typical of the region: You can walk or bicycle in the woods and meadows in a very preserved environment. The nearest supermarkets are in the villages of Fontaine (5 km) and Chateauneuf (10 km). The city center of Chartres, pedestrian, offers many restaurants and shops as well as cultural events

Quiet repose

Quiet and Beautiful

Pierre and Sophie are wonderful hosts and answered our requests immediately. L’Orangerie is a beautiful and secluded getaway. It is easy day trip to Paris or Normandie. Chartres is beautiful.

A relaxing getaway

This is our second time staying in the Orangerie, and it won’t be our last! Pierre and Sophie are excellent hosts and have created a comfortable and relaxing holiday home with everything you need for your stay, from the large, comfortable bed to the modern and fully equipped kitchen. A big plus for us is how quiet and peaceful the place is, and that the countryside is literally on your doorstep. We can’t recommend this accommodation highly enough - you won’t be disappointed!!

Peaceaful

A lovely property in a very nice location. Peaceful and comfortable. For us personally we would have preferred a table and chairs instead of the lounging sofa. Us 75 year olds find bar stools rather unforgiving. Neverthhe less we had a wonderful time.

Am amazing place to stay!

We had a fantastic few days in the Orangerie. Pierre and Sophie are charming hosts who were happy to tell us all about their farm and the surrounding area. The gite is beautifully decorated and has everything you could possibly need for your stay. The place is so peaceful and calm with a view out over a large garden and walks in the country on your doorstep. It is close to Chartres - a visit to the cathedral is a must - and there are other chateaux and places of interest not too far away if you are looking for something to do, but you could easily spend all your time at the gite, in the garden, or walking around the area. There is another gite in the same courtyard plus another being renovated, which would make it an ideal place for a large family or group of friends to stay together for a holiday. Can't wait to go back!!

Feel like a landlord

This house was really nice. Clean and tidy, enough of kitchen appliances, good shower, good firm bed. Big tv most frence channels. And fast wifi. The house is placed on the old orangerie of the next door castle. Plenty of space inside walled big gardens. even a garden backdoor to small wood where we saw wildlife. Chartres is half hour by car . And on 10 a15 min both directions some supermarkets. This is not the big tourist location but If you look for rest, perfect. Also some hiking posseble. Chartres is also a nice place to shop and eat . And not to forget Pierre and Sophie who are so friendly owners.

Zalig rustig!

Degelijk gerenoveerde, kleine woning in een historisch bijgebouw van het kasteel van Vérigny. Het romantische uitzicht op de grote, door muren omgeven verzorgde tuin is uniek. Het domein straalt rust uit. Buiten wat eendengesnater hoor je hier niets. Zalig! Alles is in het huisje aanwezig voor een fijn verblijf met z’n twee. Een beetje koken kan ook, want er zijn potten en pannen, serviesgoed enz. Zout en peper en nog wat flesjes met condiment enz. vind je er eveneens, net zoals blokjes voor de vaatwasser en schoonmaakproducten. Verder liggen er brochures met uitleg over de streek, een paar gezelschapsspellen, een bluetooth speaker… het huis is compleet ingericht en goed voorzien. Het bed is prima, met keuze uit dikke en dunne hoofdkussens. Voldoende opbergruimte voor kledij in de slaapkamer. De badkamer is knap ingericht, hoewel de ruime Italiaanse douche voor wat extra nattigheid zorgt, maar zo erg is dat nu ook weer niet. Ligging: afgelegen. Je hebt een auto nodig. Prima uitvalsbasis voor een bezoek aan Chartres en het Château de Maintenon. Deze laatste is echt een aanrader! Een grote plus is dat je je auto veilig kan parkeren binnen de afgesloten muren van het domein. Incheck en uitcheck gingen vlot. De sympathieke gastheer maakte ons wegwijs in het huis, de wasplaats en de aanpalende orangerie. Tevreden van ons verblijf!

Het verblijf en gite was super, maar de omgeving heel erg saai, Voor kinderen is er echt niets te doen. Je moet wel enige kilometers rijden voor interessante locaties. Bv route van de kastelen is toch nog 2.5 uur rijden. Maar de gite maakt veel goed

Ruhe, Natur und eine Menge zu erleben

Under Aufenthalt war aussergewöhnlich! Das Haus, die Orangerie, ist ein altes aber top restauriertes Haus, mit Schlaf-, Wohnzimmer/Küche und Bad und einer riesigen Wiese vor der Tür! Die Ausstattung ist Top, sauber und modern. Alle ist stimmig eingerichtet und wunderschön und bequem! Alles bis auf eine Mikrowelle ist vorhanden. Alles ist komplett eingerichtet, es müssen nur Kleidung und Lebensmittel mitgebracht werden. Die Gegend rund um Verigny ist vollgestopft mit Sehenswürdigkeiten, Schlössern und so weiter. Das habe ich so nicht erwartet. Chartre, gerade 15 km entfernt, ist gross, wunderschön und extrem sauber und hat eine grosse Altstadt mit tollen Bars, Restaurants und Sehenswürdigkeiten! Das reicht für mindestens eine Woche Unterhaltung! Pierre und Sophie, die Gastgeber sind sehr freundlich und sehr hilfsbereit mit Rat und Tat. Wir haben eine wundervolle Woche erlebt und kommen bestimmt wieder. Wir kommen wieder, garantiert!!

Beauty and Tranquility

This is the most tranquil and beautifully-decorated cottage we have ever stayed at. It’s private and really affords guests the experience of French culture and history. The bed and sitting room are very comfortable and the garden is lovely. Highly recommended.

Vacances paisibles à la campagne

Mon fils et moi sommes ravis de nos vacances passées à l'orangerie du 04 au 17 Juillet, nous avons été très bien accueilli par Pierre notre hôte, une personne très sympathique et qui est resté très discret tout le long de notre séjour. Cette propriété qui nous a était offerte nous a enchanté, avec un intérieur arrangé avec goût ainsi que de grands espaces extérieurs très bien entretenus : vraiment appréciable. Tout y était : confort ameublement et équipement. Le calme à la campagne recherché, nous l'avons trouvé chez Pierre et Sophie et nous sommes prêt à y retourner avec grand plaisir. Presque pas envie d'en faire la promotion

Oui c'est tellement sympa qu'on se dit que si j'en fait la promotion il va y avoir affluence et je ne pourrai plus en profiter. Mais ce serait ne pas rendre hommage et au lieu exceptionnel et aux travaux de nos hôtes pour rendre cet endroit aussi agréable. A noter que sur les photos pourtant très bonnes on a du mal à se rendre compte de l'espace énorme disponible à l'extérieur. Quant à l'équipement on a beau chercher mais tout y est. Bbq vélos, machines en tout genre. Il y a même un accès privilégié au verger plein de cerises en ce moment. Encore merci pour ce joli moment.

Havre de paix!!!

Très propre, spacieux, bien équipé, installations récente, le lit est très confortable, endroit très calme, belle luminosité. Les propriétaires sont très accueillants. Tout est parfait!!! Le seul point négatif pas de table à l'intérieur pour manger, mais une à l'extérieur.

Lovely old buildings recently renovated

This is a fabulous rental in the heart of the country near Chartres. It is a walled, gated property with beautiful extensive lawns and grounds and flowers. This is an old building that has been recently renovated to a very high standard with all a renter could need. It is so very peaceful and welcoming at the end of a day of sightseeing and city hustle and bustle. The family who own the property couldn't be kinder. They are genuinely interested in meeting the needs of their renters and go out of their way to be welcoming and kind. Should you be fortunate enough to be a renter, you might might also have the pleasant experience of meeting Sophie's mother from Paris. She was an added delight to speak with, as was Enes, Pierre and Sophie's daughter. Their command of English is truly great, and put to shame our miniscule French! We highly recommend this property and would love to return for another visit.
