Awesome Retreat in Wine Country
We enjoyed this home for the weekend of my sons' graduation from CalPoly. My extended family of 8 spent the weekend enjoying the tranquil landscape and refreshing pool. The home is in wine country, about 50 minutes from San Luis Obispo, and about 20 minutes from Paso Robles. The home was very clean, and well-stocked with kitchen utensils and pans for us to grill and prepare our own meals. The bedrooms are spread out with bathrooms so we were able to congregate during the day and have quiet nights. The owner was very helpful in setting up the rental and answering our questions. My father was able to navigate the home with no stairways, only a single step in the entryway.
Our group of 6 spent a week in this house and we had a great time. There was lots of room in the house for us and although it was too chilly to swim we enjoyed sitting out around the pool in the afternoon. The views from the front of the house were beautiful as well and it was soooo peaceful. You are a distance from downtown Paso Robles, but it was never a problem to get to town and the various golf courses and wineries in the area. After reading another review here, we hired The Prancing Chef to prepare a dinner for us and we were definitely not disappointed. It was FABULOUS!! The other thing we especially enjoyed was a visit to the Kiler Ridge olive oil farm. We did have a couple issues while at the house but they were promptly taken care of by Catherine, so we have only good things to say about our stay.
Excellent Valentines Weekend
We had an excellent Valentines weekend with our friends. The house was perfect with plenty of room for our group of 8. Beautiful vistas of the hills and vineyard. It was very peaceful and relaxing!!! We had The Prancing Chef as our private chef on Valentines Day and he loved working in the gourmet kitchen. The food was delicious and beautifully plated and served!!!
Great home base for wine tasting in Paso Robles!! Would highly recommend this for your stay in the Paso Robles area!
Great for golfers
This is a perfect location to meet friends from Southern California (we came from the Bay Area). Wonderful golf courses in Paso Robles, combined with some nice wineries very close by. The house is spacious and slept 6 very comfortably. It is set back in beautiful vine covered hills. Everything is as advertised.
The perfect family getaway
We picked the perfect place for our extended family trip. There was plenty of room for everyone without the feeling of being cramped in. We loved hanging out by the pool and sharing family dinners which we prepared in the awesome kitchen. During the day we went on a wine tasting trip, checked out the local breweries another day, picked fresh fruit at the orchard down the street or shopped in town. The property was beautiful and we enjoyed our morning walks or simply sipping coffee outside. Everything was clean and we felt right at home. We would choose this place again in a heart-beat.
Great family vacation and venue.
From sipping morning coffee on the front porch, to sharing brunch under the cover of the back patio, to enjoying Margaritas while floating in the pool, everyone had a chance to unwind, kick back, and not think about work for five days. This Spanish-style hacienda farmhouse was amazing and the location was great. The house was well-supplied and, with four bedrooms and three baths, everyone had their space and their privacy.
One great find, recommended by the owner, was the winery “Villa San-Juliette.” We happened to be in town the weekend of National Dance Day, promoted by Nigel Lythgoe and Ken Warwick, the owners of Villa San-Juliette. On Saturday, we saw several dance schools perform along with rehearsals for the National Dance Day dance. Enjoying our repast of VSJ Albariño and some sliders, we spent several hours listening to music and embracing our environs. So much so, that my wife and I went back the next day to listen to their live music and enjoy another bottle of wine. All this only added to our experience of Paso Robles and its fine wines.
I might add, that at no additional cost, the vineyard house provided for our viewing deer, turkeys, a feral pig, squirrels and rabbits all wandering through this lush vineyards.
I highly recommend this rental and the owner is very easy to work with. We are looking forward to our return trip.
Visit Paso Robles and San Luis Obispo amazing wineries. Enjoy beautiful Lake Naciemento and Lake San Antonio for fishing and swimming. Look for the many fun community events in downtown Paso Robles.
