The host was wonderful. Any issue we brought up, he remedied as soon as possible. The temperature dropped during our visit and we were cold, so he went out and bought us each a brand new comforter. He gave us many lovely gifts throughout our stay and always checked in with us to see if things were okay. He gave us suggestions of things to see and places to eat. He was a pleasure to chat with. Some things to know about the property are as follows:It is very difficult to find the entrance gate the first few times. The third bedroom is downstairs and not connected to the rest of the rental. We chose to all stay upstairs and use the twin bed in one of the bedrooms. Internet did not work when we arrived and was out the last day. We didn’t report the last day because we were leaving. A clog in the shower drain was fixed in two days and he and a friend worked hard on it. The kitchen was fine for cooking meals and the dishwasher worked well. The washer and dryer are separate and both worked well. The cleaning was not fabulous because there were a lot of spider webs on the ceilings, but otherwise things were clean. You could walk to town but it is a long walk, and there aren’t sidewalks everywhere. We chose to make the short drive to the free refuge parking. There were plenty of places to sit inside and the outdoor space was lovely. Again, M. Maurel is a lovely, kind man.
