We are a group of retired teachers with spouses and friends who vacation together twice a year; we have been enjoying our trips together for almost 30 years! After our twice a year visits to SeaNest for the last three years, it has become our favorite vacation home. It is IDEAL for our group. We love that the house is directly on the beach, has five separate bedrooms and four baths, includes adequate utensils and cooking gear, and feels like "home' to us. The owners are easy to work with and are prompt in their responses. For our latest trip during October of 2016, everything went as planned. The updated kitchen is beautiful, the living room furniture is new, and the whole house is comfortable. We love it and will continue to visit as often as possible.

Ehhhhhhh...So so house.

  • 2 of 5

We stayed at this house June 2016. It was my husband, myself , our three young children and my parents. Let me start with the good!

-Beautiful views

-Amazing beach access

-Robin was so easy to work with!

-House has an ice machine

-Great kitchen and fully stocked with utensils and pans.

-master bath and one upstairs bathroom in need of MAJOR updates

-AC could never keep up

-Fridge never really got cool (even after making a solid effort to stay out of it all day and one whole night in order to give it time to cool the new food)

-Appliances fall out of most outlets- making it hard to dry hair, charge phones etc.

-Almost all the lamp shades are broken

- needs new carpet in upstairs hallway bedrooms and master.

-All the toilets have cracked and peeling paint

On the seats

-Most of the beds are really squeaky

-Not nearly enough comfortable seating in the living room for how many this house says it sleeps.

- Two of the ceiling fans in the bedrooms squeak so much you cannot use them.

-There wasn't any great back deck seating. Could really use a better table and lounge chairs out in the back deck.

**the beach is SUPER crowded here. The house sits right next to a public beach access. This wasn't an issue for us, we used the beach chair set up

Provided plus one more. But if you are looking for something secluded this isn't for you.

Bottom line: this house has such great potential!! Just needs a little TLC. Wouldn't rent again unless things were updated.

Owner's Response: This is a beach house you can relax in with your family on vacation. We are always striving to update and to maintain the premises for our new and our valued 20+ year tenants to keep them coming back. If you vacation here regularly you know the beach is busy in the summer. We are next to a no parking public access which is more of a small access easement to the beach for the neighborhood behind us. I've never had this complaint before. The following has been addressed: 1) Tenant did not report fridge which was frozen up most likely due to turnover day. Fridge has been replaced with a new brand. 2) There are 3 HVAC systems. I haven't had any other complaints since 2008. And if you leave the doors open while unpacking it will take time to recover. 3) Downstairs carpet and lamps broken by tenants have been replaced. 4) There is a sofa, a love seat and 2 chairs in the family room or seating for 7. Most folks just grab a a couple of dining room chairs if additional seating in the family room is needed. There is seating for 10 outside with the poly resin chairs which seem to hold up better than most. I've never had this complaint before this review. 5) We've replaced 1 bed frame upstairs from wicker to something a little sturdier. Perhaps this was the squeaky bed frame tenant was referring to. Not sure. Again I've never had this complaint before this review. This is not a flawless or brand new beach home but I find that most families do want a home that they can relax in while on vacation. I do get that feedback year after year from my best customers. That feedback usually comes in the form of a nice email or text and a "Thanks for Another Great Year" which the public doesn't always get a chance to view.

Great beach house

  • 5 of 5

We had a awesome time and really enjoyed this location with plenty of room, great deck with a view and easy access to the beach. Would be a great place for a family or a gathering of friends that want to be at the beach and we plan on coming back again next year.

About Robin Reeves

We live and work in SC full time and love visiting the Panhandle when the beach house is not rented. We fell in love with the crystal white sand and the clear water and the laid back 30-A lifestyle.

Robin Reeves purchased this house in 2008

Why Robin Reeves chose Seagrove Beach

We love the area and its a very friendly community. Our beach home is located on a dead end so its quiet and not much through traffic.

What makes this house unique

We are ideally located between Panama City and Destin and only 2 miles from Seaside. Its a perfect spot.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Seanest is my only vacation rental, so it has my full attention. It is well equipped down to an assortment of placemats and cloth napkins. All linens are furnished. I do request that rentors bring their own beach towels. In the storage room underneath the house are ample beach toys, floats, chairs, lounges, wave boards, and grills. There is also an enclosed outdoor shower.
