HI Madeleine-I remember we spoke when you reserved the beach house and you said you were renting for your boss and his family. Since you were never at the beach house I'm sure your boss coached you. He may not have told you that I had to withhold a substantial portion of his security deposit because of damages. We've only had to withhold monies from security deposits a couple of times over the years but it always generates a bad review. I did not post a bad review of your boss because the house was rented in your name and I didn't think it would be fair to your reputation to have to suffer for his bad behavior. I would also like to note that most of our guests are return renters and book directly through my property management company and VRBO will not let people post reviews that do not book through their website. Here are some of the issues we had with your boss and his stay: --The cushions from the game room sofa which is inside the house were found by housekeeping OUTSIDE and had to be sent out to be cleaned. (Thank goodness I have a second set of covers.) --All of the bedding from one of the full-sized bunk beds was missing--two mattress pads, a set of sheets and the quilt/coverlet. House keeping looked everywhere--even in the outside garbage and the bedding was not on the property. --Guests moved furniture from the second deck to the bottom deck and left it although Instructions emailed to guests specifically states to not move furniture and that there will be a charge to return moved furniture. --Instructions also warn there will be a charge for late check outs and your boss and his family had my cleaners waiting for a considerable time. --pots and pans with food from the night before were left on the stove. --the house was generally a mess and neighbors reported that it appeared that friends or other family were staying at other houses in the neighborhood and they all used ours as the "beach house" creating more wear and tear than would have been normal.

Hi Linda, I’m sorry that the TV on the first level and the Sonos wasn’t working for your entire stay. For some crazy reason we had several groups this year that disconnected our equipment and didn’t get it put back correctly (one group took the equipment out and couldn’t get it back in the cabinet!). Our maintenance group can sometimes get the equipment reconnected but we had to call in a professional group to take care of the issue after the people before you. Getting on someone’s schedule can take days and it costs hundreds of dollars to get everything sorted out. So yes, I’m afraid I felt the need to get stern in my language. Your group, however, was great and we appreciate that you took good care of our home:) Best, Carla (owner)
