This 1949 home was built by Paul Trousdale, a well known Los Angeles developer of his time. The area, which included over 200 homes, was developed by Paul Trousdale, in partnership with Pearl McManus, under the name Palm Springs - Tahquitz Company. Pearl McManus was the daughter of Honorable Judge Guthrie McCallum of San Francisco who arrived in 1884 with his family, seeking health for his tubercular son. He was the first permanent white settler to build a home in Palm Springs.

"The home is furnished very stylish and comfortable. Art work is great! Everything was well-stocked (kitchen utensils, linens, etc.) and ready for us to move right in and enjoy a worry-free week in the sun. Landscaping and outdoor furniture was perfect for a relaxing stay. Good location -- close to downtown and easy access to the bike trail."
This home has a wonderful location in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance to downtown. The pool, jacuzzi and private backyard were wonderful; we spent the majority of our time poolside. We enjoyed the comfortable outdoor seating as well as cooking on the gas grill. The kitchen is super well equipped and there are plenty of towels and linens. Thank you to Jama, who even purchased a Scrabble game for us to use during our stay. I would highly recommend this home to anyone traveling to Palm Springs with friends or family.
Had a great vacation with family and friends. The layout is perfect and all the amenities of home (plus a few more) are present. The pool is great, the lighting is awesome, and the house is very clean and orderly. The artistic accents make it a really fun place too - whoever decorated this place has much better taste than me!
We arrived between Christmas and New Years Day for an eight day visit. The home is great, well appointed and comfortable. There were five of us, and the three bedrooms and two baths worked out fine. There is great access to the heated pool in the secluded back yard from two sliding doors and two other doors. The kitchen is well equipped and easy to navigate for cooking the occasional meal when not sampling the wide variety of places to eat in Palm Springs. There is a Ralph's grocery store about a three minute drive away which made it really convenient to shop for any food for eating at home. The washer and dryer came in handy too.
We walked to downtown on occasion, as it only took about 15 minutes. There is a nice bagel shop close by, in addition to great shopping along the main street downtown.
We found the TV systems a bit complicated to operate, with multiple controllers, but we managed to figure most of them out. There are very nice flat screens in each bedroom and the den too. Jama was very responsive when we asked for guidance on how to figure the system out, and she even volunteered to drive from LA to help us. We declined her gracious offer, but we could tell by the beauty and comfort of the home the owners take pride in keeping it in good shape. The owners have a good collection of brochures and guides for visitor use at desk in the living room. The views of the mountains were great from every window and the pool too. Swimming under the stars and the half moon was very special.
Your home was a beautiful spot to celebrate Thanksgiving with the family! Enjoyed the lovely pool, jacuzzi, and yard with a view of the mountains in the distance. The house was very comfortable and the kitchen fully furnished.
Quiet neighborhood and close to downtown and good restaurants. Cheeky's was a great breakfast spot!
We hiked Joshua National Park and Indian Canyons, which were both absolutely magnificent!
Wondered about cushions for the lounge chairs by the pool...only thing missing!
Thank you very much...we would highly recommend this home!

We usually stay nearby at another house, which was booked. This lead us to this great house, awesome mid century modern and great wall art throughout the house. Our two dogs loved the yard, lots of room to run and play (very safe and secure), great pool and hot tub as well. An added bonus were the two bikes in the garage which made for fun cruising in Downtown Palm Springs. We definitely will go back :)
