I didn't know there was no elevator. Maybe I should have asked. The apartment was cute and clean and the surrounding area was beautiful. My only suggestion - repair the screen that goes to the patio. The a.c. was very noisy and the air was cool so I wanted to leave the patio door open.

This is the perfect place for a quick get away on the slopes and has all the necessities. Simple access, parking, kitchen, and a cozy fireplace. The deck has enough room for a few people to sit and enjoy the air and there is also a hot tub and pool available if desired.

Very old outdated room. The front door sticks, the screen going out to the patio has holes in it. I could go on and on. The dishes left in the dishwasher had what looked like chapstick on the glasses, several still dirty and one broken wine glass. We were asked to run it when we left but couldn't get the thing shut. The bathroom has a fan switch that instead of being fixed just has a big "X" on it. That left on could cause a major fire. Murphy bed is way too small for 2 adults and we weigh 180, 130. Pillows are terrible and washcloths and towels are so small and so worn out. I have better wash clothes in my garage. Those don't cost a lot to replace and others have complained in past reviews. Dog across the hall kept barking one night we couldn't hear our movie on the TV. Fix the place up! I suggest looking elsewhere there has got to be nicer places to stay in Lutsen.

The unit has a combination door lock. The Owner did not give us the combination, and we tried through VRBO for 90 minutes, standing in the hallway, to contact him for the combination. We were not the first to have trouble with this, as the lock and jamb assembly has been abused by former renters, was crooked and loose on the door, and was hard to make work. When the owner did call us, we thought he sounded impaired. We don't know what we interrupted, or why he sounded so unintelligible. We don't care, except that he was in no shape to give us the correct combination, and we tried about five or six of HIS guesses till we got in. He also has a realtor's lock box mounted under the knob, so close that the knob was very hard to turn. Even after that, it was impossible to know whether the door had relocked once we were inside. When we did get it, there was dust in hidden places everywhere my mother would have cleaned. I have asthma. Can you imagine? The TV remote batteries were dead. No ground coffee, no Keurig, and the bug screen on the patio door was damaged and couldn't be sealed. My wife would not use the shower until I removed the soiled plastic shower curtain, which I did, and replaced later. The website listed the bed as "full size." It was a Murphy bed! Low and lumpy. We are nearly 80 and it was hard to get in, get out of, and to be in. Hey, I hope you enjoy your stay, but we won't be there again. Dirty dishes left in the dishwa from last. Worst stay-away I ever had.

Brand new, heavy-duty lock has been installed. In advance, I gave the guest detailed check-in instructions WITH THE LOG-IN CODE that he did not read, even after I reminded him and ultimately had to tell him the code, no guessing. Surveyed past guests who said the bed is comfortable and it is a FULL-SIZE bed. Screen was repaired and dishes were clean. PLEASE READ THE OTHER REVIEWS.
