Beautiful hillside home with an abundance of natural light. This home is perfect for a family gathering. Nice open living/dining area with views of the ocean. Double sliding glass doors that lead out to a nice size deck, perfect for those coastal sunsets. Just a short drive in to the village and a short walk down the hill to the Yachats Wayside. There you can explore tide pools, blowholes and access the beach along the river. Stormy weather? Stay warm inside and maybe play some games or ping pong. Fun Thanksgiving Getaway

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My family went for a Thanksgiving getaway. We were very pleased the kitchen provided many pots pans and utensils needed for a big meal. The decor was modern and inviting. Beds comfortable and we even had a view of the ocean.

Great family getaway

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved this place. Photos "undersold" it, so we were even more happy when we got there. Location is the only slight disadvantage if you like to walk, since crossing or walking along 101 is a barrier. But we hope to come here again soon and bring a couple more people. Plenty of room for 7 people. Loved the ping pong table!

All Guests - BLOWN AWAY

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Everyone that stayed at this vacation rental was absolutely blown away by how peaceful and welcoming it was the second that we walked inside. The location of the spot makes it so pleasing to stare at the stars because there’s such low light pollution in the area that it makes it to where are you see stars that you’ve never seen in your life unless you were out in the middle of nowhere. But, the thing is that you AREN’T in the middle of nowhere. You’re surrounded by the cutest beach town with spectacular coffee, shops, and art galleries. The rental also being so close to beach access was a huge plus.My friends that stayed at the rental with me want to rent this place out as an annual occasion. Hoping to rent it again next summer!

Worth It

We were pleasantly surprised by the place. The pictures did not do it justice. There was plenty of room, great design, and nicely furnished. The microwave didn’t work and some outlets in the kitchen were not working, so we had to improvise. Tip: the toaster won’t work if the outlet is dead. Move it to another outlet. The garbage can has a lock that you have to release by pushing a button in the hole…sideways. The previous renters couldn’t figure it out so they put all of their trash in the recycling. In case you are having trouble with the shower, just pull out the shower lever to get it to turn on. Otherwise, really nice place to stay. We would definitely rent again there.

Nice house

Nice house, a few blocks from the ocean. Liked that it was dog friendly. There were some electrical/lighting issues that needed attention but the property managers were very responsive.

Cute ocean view house

Great location with a awesome view. The kids especially loved the loft and spending time out in the garage playing ping pong. Would book this place again.

Great property... terrible property management company

This property was amazing. Kitchen is stocked with everything you could possibly need for cooking, pots, utensils ect. Plenty of extra towels & blankets too which was very nice. Downside to this property...the driveway is a nightmare. Hard to get in & out due to the angle of the driveway & the gravel. Other downside very unresponsive property management company. Prior to stay they would not return my calls...and all I wanted to do was pay for the rental in full. We have used VRBO numerous times & never had this issue ever. I will never rent another house from this property management company.

Nice home, wish it was closer to sand

This house was nice, clean, well-equipped, and had everything we needed for our family of 7 with young kids. While it was within walking distance of a beach, it was pretty rocky and we had to drive a few miles to find the nice sandy beach that our kids wanted to play in. Unfortunately the DVD player in the living room was not working. And unlike other reviews, we did not find the bed in the master room very comfortable. Otherwise I have no complaints.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The Castaway was a wonderful place to stay with deck for dog and views of ocean in distance. Very clean and zonal heaters kept us cozy on rainy days. Kitchen utensils and appliances are top-notch. The great room is really set up nicely with plenty of room and comfy chairs and sofas and plenty of pillows. Dining table perfect for 8 people. Ping pong table in garage was nice find. King bed in master bedroom very comfortable and linens high quality. Walking street route to beach trail across highway avoids having to walk along Hwy 101 - a real plus. Peter at Ocean Odyssey is so accommodating and always great to provide the perfect beach rental. We have stayed at over 10 rentals for over 10 years and it is always just what we are hoping for and often a lot more. We have already booked our next stay at Castaway. Thanks Peter!

Lovely home with everything we needed

Just the right size for our group of 5. Good location on the coast with plenty to do for day trips. The only thing would be parking. We only had room for 3 cars, which ended up being fine for us but if we had another car I don't know where we would have parked.

Great little piece of heaven

Little slice of heaven perfect for a relaxing getaway to take in all the beautiful sights. Very easy to find. Wonderful home in walking distance to the beach. Ping Pong table was a huge hit with my family. Small piece of information that might be helpful to others looking to stay here. You can not wear shoes in this home you may want to bring thick socks and/or slippers as nights are chilly.

Yachats vacation rental!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house we rented overall was spacious and beautiful with a great view. 30 min drive to newport and little farther for other places. Only a few down falls when we arrived was the cleanliness of the house, we were aware that it was a pet friendly home but did not expect to show up and have hair all over the beds display pillows, and in the sheets, the extra blankets in the closet were just thrown up there. Booger on the bed frame,The kitchen table was covered in dust and it didnt seem like the place was vaccumed or swept. We had to spend our evening after we checked in at 4 and just had driven 8 hrs to washing bedding and dusting etc to where we felt comfortable staying. We loved our stay after the fact but wish we didn't have to clean like we did.
