beautiful and relaxing
I grew up not far from this location and know the area pretty well... I couldn't believe how wonderful this house was. We were so comfortable there and the kids were having so much fun in the pool that we didn't leave for the entire stay!
I read your wonderful review on the holiday at Villa Danda.
I very much appreciate your affection for the home and the area.
Thank you very much!
I hope to have you again as my guests!
The property was as described and as portrayed in the photos, it´s a beautiful place, with a stunning view. Our family of 2 adults and 2 teenagers fitted nicely, and we enjoyed sitting outside either at the patio or by the pool. The owner, Daniela, was very accommodating and helpful, and even the neighbors were very friendly and made us feel welcome. We can easily imagine coming back to this enchanting place!
Thank you for your words. You have also been perfect guests that I would like to host again at Villa Danda.
excellent set up and location. friendly and kind owner
Its the best hideaway and relaxation vacation I had
it's location for both Rome and Airport is just perfect
A lovely peaceful villa right on the sea
We had a quiet week. It was a lovely place to relax. We are glad we hired a car as we were able to get out and about as well.
The property is beautiful. The view at the rear overlooking the pool and sea is quite something
We as a family very much enjoyed our stay at the villa. The surrounding area was a little quieter than expected but made a pleasant surprise to be away from it all. We hired cars and travelled to Rome twice which is strongly recommended and certainly makes up for the hustle and bustle. Overall the stay was very good and the only thing that could have been better was the weather which we went in April so we expected a little rain although we received a little more than expected.
Villa Danda is located in Lavinio.
Lavinio - Lido di Enea, tourist and residential on the Lazio coast, is part of the municipality of Anzio and is situated about 50 km from Rome.
Lavinio is best known for its beaches, characterized by white sand and thin., It comes alive especially during the summer months.
Lavinium, is the place where legend has it that Aeneas came with his father Anchise and his son Ascanio.
Lavinio, during the Roman Empire, was the site of rich patrician villas. In medieval times, the area was subject to invasion by pirates and Saracens.
Tor Caldara Regional Nature Reserve
Established in 1988, the regional nature reserve Tor Caldara is directed by the WWF and, from 03. 25. 2005, is considered an Interesting Site EU. It is a unique example of Mediterranean vegetation, covers an area of 44 hectares and gives the opportunity to see, through organized visits, a wide variety of flora (mainly of holm oaks with evergreen leaves dark green, leathery, cork, some specimens of Quercus crenata, the bonnet and the very rare common Bunting Thermal) and fauna (15 different species of mammals, 9 species of reptiles, 5 species of amphibians and at least 50 species of birds, both resident and migratory).
There are also hot sulfur springs that the Romans had conveyed to Terme medicinal purposes. In the reserve they are visible, located in a rugged, various positions entrenched British used during II World War. Inside the reserve are the remains of a Palaeolithic settlement, a Roman villa, and especially Tor Caldara, built by Marcantonio Colonna with permission from Pope Pius IV in 1565 behind the beach, with the key role of coastal control than raids, especially at the time of the Saracens, but also to defend the caldare placed in Solfatara to extract sulfur.
In 1999, a few dozen meters from Tor Caldara, just above the sea, were found the remains of a Roman villa of the second century AD Remain visible mosaics and marble that adorned the domus, also present were some facilities that were allegedly part of a small thermal complex. The villa was used as a quarry of marble during the building of the tower in Roman papal and was sacked recently
