Worked well for our family, house is definitely aging but does the job. We enjoyed the large lot with grass to play on. The pool was very well maintained and the family loved it.

Spent a delightful week here with 10 family members. House is quirky and fun to the delight of our younger grandchildren. Pool is great for play time and young swimmers. Rooms on 3 different levels gave privacy to each family. Location next to the Old Mill Park is great. Nice play area in the well groomed yard.

Wine weekend

Like staying at Grandpa and Grandma's house, great location and lots of room for a group of family or friends. And close to so many of the great wineries in the Chelan region!

A girls getaway pool side was wonder

The location was great. We mostly enjoyed our pool time, perfect temperature lots of lounge chairs to enjoy just what we needed, the outside cover patio was an bonus to hang out propane fire pit and lots of seating. The house is older and could use a little updates overall we really enjoyed our stay

Great home/pool for birthday

Overall fun stay, since the house was big and had a pool. It is dated and pricing was a bit high for what you got but it was over Labor Day weekend, which is standard. Owner was responsive to questions, and checkout process was simple.

Enjoyable Family Stay

Our family of 4 adults and 2 children under 8 had a very nice week due to good weather and a terrific private pool. The farmhouse is in need of much updating, because it is very old, but it was adequate for us. The beds were okay, but the pillows not so much. The big plus was a well stocked kitchen, and there was plenty of towels to use. Without the wonderful pool, this would not have been my first choice of places to stay. It did provide a good sized yard for outdoor games, as well as a variety of board games. The Wifi was fine, but it was not available by the pool area. We would probably stay here again, provided we were unable to find another property with a private pool.

Not for Children

The property had a nice pool and yard but the house is not safe for kids. The stairs to the bedrooms on the second floor are basically a ladder with carpet and the rooms downstairs don't have adequate exit windows. And anyone over 5'9" will ban their head on the header at the bottom of the stairs. You can't have the microwave and toaster on at the same time and if the lights work in the kitchen its a miracle. We opted not to stay in the house ans scramblld to find other accomodations.

great place to isolate during Covid 19

Communication was excellent with John & Amy. All of us had comfortable beds. Having the warm clean private pool was awesome. Less than 5 mins. to boat and dock launch. Red Apple grocery met most of our needs. We have stayed in many VRBO and AIRBNBs. This is one of the best stocked kitchens, ever. Great assortment of games and DVDs. It is over 100 yrs old. As a result some expected degree of cleanliness just isn't going to happen. There are several areas that could be "cleaned" up, ie carpets. The home owner has plans to make the home clean friendly, however due to Covid restrictions etc., that has not happened, yet. Once there is new carpet and shower surrounds, i would highly recommend this home

As described - this is an old farmhouse. The outside area is spacious, including the fenced pool and a shaded patio area.PROS: There are 5 bedrooms with a total of 7 beds and 3 bathrooms.CONS: 2 of the bathrooms are on the main level with only 1 bedroom and 3 bedrooms are on the upper level with no bathrooms. The basement has a bedroom, full bathroom, 2 extra twin beds in an alcove and a laundry area. Stairs going both up and down are steep and have very shallow treads. One family member slipped going down and got rugburn on her leg and side. In my opinion, these would not be safe for aging parents or very young children.The kitchen was well-appointed except for the amount of spoons. Six spoons. Plenty of forks & knives though.Because this is an old house there are very few electrical outlets in most rooms. One outlet in the kitchen was sticking out from the wall and one light switch did not have a switch plate cover (however, these were more than 3 feet from the floor). Overall we had a great stay. The large lawn and pool were a plus, as were the raspberry bushes, apple trees and a resident family of quail that were fun to watch. The property had enough room for the 7 adults and 4 children. Everything worked inside and outside of the house - including the A/C units.

Great yard and communication

We really enjoyed the pool and expansive yard, and to be honest will likely return just because of these factors. It was great to hang out in the sun outside. The house, as other reviews point out, definitely has character. As other reviewers mentioned, I would not recommend older or younger folk as there are narrow and steep stairs. The kitchen is tight but adequately supplied with all you need, and the bedrooms and bathrooms did the job as necessary. The communication with John was fantastic. I had a few questions before and throughout the trip, and he answered back quickly every time.

Steep stairs old bathrooms

The overall experience staying here was fine. However, the house sits near a busy road with constant traffic noise. The outside patio door entrance stairs are not child safe. There is also a very very steep staircase leading to the three rooms upstairs that really are not appropriate for young children or elderly guests. The main floor baths are in need of repair and deep cleaning. BUT I will note the outside area was nice. The pool was great and definitely an added bonus. The picnic table on the patio could be swapped out for something in better shape. The cans of bug spray and pest traps are everywhere. I would suggest these items be collected and stored in one area. They were in several cupboards throughout the kitchen. Host was great and answered any of our inquiries quickly.

Fun Spot!

We had a group of 10 staying on the property and had a great time! Lots of yard space, pool, fire pit and basketball hoop kept us all busy when we were at the property. Walking distance to the casino and a beach park for the lake. Grocery store was 2 mins by car away as well. Overall just a great place to stay!

Three adults were 70 plus, more info about stairs. Grounds were excellent for yard games. Pool and accessories were great. The patio area was very useful. Structure supporting wisteria questionable.

Wonderful pool and large property

The Farmhouse is over 100 years old so keep that in mind. The pros: great heated pool, lots of bedrooms, big lawn/lot, basketball court, great location close to lake and stores. Cons: steep staircases to basement rooms and upstairs, no bathroom upstairs, blew breakers a few times when using too many electrical things at once. The pictures in your ad should be updated as there have been several improvements not shown in these pics. There are 2 new larger TVs, new washer and dryer, new couch's, chair, and the pool has a brand new liner. The manager was great! Always called right back if we had questions or concerns. This really was a wonderful old home with lots of character. Remember it is 103 years old. Nice plus was some fruit trees in the yard, yummy peaches and apples for snacks, LOL

Unexpected guests

This property is lovely and the pool really made our stay special, but the number of ants in the cupboards, showers, bedrooms, and along the floors sent most of our family packing early. The charm of this old farmhouse is nice, but needs some attention to insects and mold throughout.

Funky house, great outdoor space

Our family stayed here during the height of this summer’s heat wave and we had a great time. The yard with it’s shade trees, expansive grass and pool was great. The price was reasonable compared to other Chelan houses with pools. We were expecting an old house, not fancy, but there were certain things like the steepness of the stairs, lack of door on basement bedroom that were not ideal. However, we adjusted quickly given that we hardly spent any time indoors. We had a couple small issues and the responded and fixed swiftly.

40th Birthday at the Farmhouse

Wonderful home to gather with parents, adult children and grandchildren. Patio and pool everything we needed. Good location with public lake access nearby. Great yard for all of us to play games, relax in the shade and run. We all enjoyed and had a fabulous vacation. Thank You

Fun, Functional- A Fantastic Stay!

This amazing old farmhouse is full of character and fun! This was the perfect fit for our group of 10 kids (ages 1-16) and 3 adults. All the teen girls had their own bedroom w/Queen in the upstairs (FYI super steep stairs), all the boys in the basement on the twins and futon/couches along with adults and infant in the basement bedroom with queen and 3/4 bath. The main floor queen and creaky farmhouse floors were perfect for us to be able to ensure our lively bunch all stayed in their separate spaces through the night. Very comfortable furnishings, lots of towels for the pool and showers, the kitchen was well stocked and the pool and expansive yard were AWESOME! The public park and boat launch are a short walk down the street for even more fun. The home office provided a nice space and great internet for squeezing in a few zoom meetings and work. Hosts are fantastic to communicate and work with. If anything bring heavy sleepers or a small radio/headphones for those in the front bedrooms due to road noise and the basement for creaky floors from night owls and early risers. The Chelan Farmhouse is an unpretentiousness destination, ready for you to come and make memories! We would love to return annually.
