I can't gush enough about this adorable cabin. It's right on the Smith River and is surrounded by beautiful redwoods. It was so peaceful and quiet and Ruthann and John were wonderful hosts full of recommendations of where to explore. We will definitely be coming back.
Neatly kept property
The owners very welcoming
Welcome respite in a gorgeous setting
My family really enjoyed our stay at the studio, and the opportunity to wash all of our camping laundry was most welcome. It rained the whole time we were there, but we still managed to get out and take a hike through the towering redwoods. The studio was well-appointed, with a surprisingly big kitchen; the only issue we had was that there is no table at which to eat or play board games; we wound up holding plates in our laps. I would love to stay here in the summer, when we could at at the picnic table by the river!
Friendly hosts and lovely spot for a vacation! The dining space is really outside, so ideal in nice weather. In cool weather, it’s TV trays inside. Love to have our dog so welcome!
Comfy refuge with kind hosts
We arrived four hours early, after spending the previous night camping in a thunderstorm complete with torrential rain and hail. Ruthann and John had made the place ready for us and had the heater turned up and graciously welcomed us in. They offered us some excellent advice and directions to see the Redwoods, then, like all great hosts do, bowed out and left us to our own devices, cheerily waving to us as we came and went.
The studio is clean and tidy and we lacked for nothing: queen-sized bed; TV and DVD player; full kitchen with pots and pans, coffee pot, toaster, microwave, etc; and a bathroom with shower (no tub). On our final morning the rains finally let up and we enjoyed a stroll along the roaring Smith River in the sunshine among majestic Redwood trees.
If you are looking for a place to stay that is that perfect mix of "close by" and "in the wild" this is for you.
Cozy, warm, inviting, relaxing getaway
When we arrived, Kevin and Ruthann welcomed us and gave us some pointers for the area. We were so glad to be there after a long drive. We were able to let our dogs run and play because of the private location- if you are bringing dogs, I can’t reccomend this place enough, your pups will LOVE this place and you will feel at ease not having to supervize them. We could open the door and let them roam. The dogs loved it and we could not get them in the car when it came time to leave. It was an amazing weekend at the cozy cabin and we would love to come back another time to get away from the hustle and bustle and truly relax and unwind in nature.
