Takiya and Kenya, Let us first begin by saying that you were our very first guest at this Vacation Home, and we are very disappointed in the manner our property was treated. We understand that it is frustrating to have to wait for a later check in than expected, but we covered possible late check-ins in the guest agreement which you signed. This area is extremely busy in the summer, cleaners can be stuck in traffic for hours, and cleanings take considerably longer due to the additional COVID-19 cleaning procedures. When the rare occasion cleaning runs behind, we notify our guests, as we did with you. The housekeeper arrived shortly after 4, and was turned away by your party. You did not allow our housekeeper the condo stating “the property was clean enough and would be fine.” It appeared clean because the owners had just stayed there and are very neat. They had come to stock their home with essentials and make small improvements before their first guest’s arrival. As I mentioned, they are very clean, and often leave the home almost as clean as it was before their arrival, which is why it was in good shape when you arrived (although we still wish you would have allowed the housekeeper to enter and professionally handle the sanitization of the home). Furthermore, the owners did not have a dog. We confirmed this with them following our conversation with you when we asked if you had brought a dog. Following your departure, the housekeeper and Inspector both reported dog hair had been all over the bed and furniture, even stating that it clung to their clothes after entering this property. They also noted that a black, tar-like substance was smeared on the bathroom walls, the sinks, and was also found frozen in a blender inside the freezer. Parts of this blender were missing and so the blender had to be replaced. Again, we want to remind you that you were our first guest after having put this home together. All appliances, utensils and items were tested and accounted for. We also found that the stove top had been badly burned and damaged. Upon finding these issues, we contacted you to let you know that a Pet Fee and Excessive Cleaning fee were added to your bill. You then reached out to us and wished to dispute these charged. You stated that you had not brought a dog, and that you did not know what the substance on the walls and in the freezer was. You suggested that maybe it was makeup on the walls and human hair, not dog hair. It was not. However, we felt that it was important that your visit with us was positive, and did not want to accuse you of being untruthful, so we retracted the charges and refunded your money. It is very disappointing to see this review not only after the way your party treated our home, but also after having been dishonest with us when disputing these charges. We knew that your denial of these things were false, but still gave you a refund in order to be generous to you. We hope that you understand the gravity of treating other people’s properties as you have treated ours, and know that the owners of these vacation rentals are regular people who are trying to make a living. Please be more respectful in the future, and allow the housekeepers to do their jobs, even when they are running behind in the heat of Summer.

Dear guest, thank you for leaving a review for us. We would like to address the issues you have pointed out so that we can clear up any confusion. 1) We do multiple deep cleans and always come back if needed. Please let us know if anything has been missed as we are more than happy to return and touch up any desired area for you. We are just a phone call away! 2) We have had issues in the past with guests bringing tents and equipment to the beach. As a rule of thumb, we tell guests not to bring large items such as canopies to avoid trouble. 3) As specified in our instructions, we only provide one parking pass. The second must be purchased from the HOA. We provide this information in your guest instructions which is provided prior to check in. 4) Our office is not located in the Ariel Dunes building. The office you were looking for is operated by Seascape. However, if you call our 888 number or send us an email, you will receive a much quicker answer as we know where the correct buildings and HOA offices are which you need to access to purchase second pass. Jenn, Thank you for your review! We are so glad that you enjoyed your time with us. This is a wonderful property with incredible views. You can sit for hours just overlooking the water with a cup of tea or coffee. We are sorry that the Keurig and Microwave were on the fritz, and appreciate you letting us know. While we do detailed inspections to ensure that our properties are in tip top shape for our guests, some things are difficult to catch without your help. A keurig is one of those, since we cannot start it to run a cycle on every turn. As for the dish towels, they were present according to our inspection report. Our photos show multiple dish rags as well as a fresh sponge sitting on the counter by the sink. A drying rack is a great idea overall, but quite risky for highrise buildings as a gust of wind can take the rack and towels and drop to the ground 18 stories below. Spices are another safety issue which we observe for a very important reason. We do not keep anything edible in our properties to avoid tampering, contamination or anything of that sort. We do not keep any edible products for those purposes. Your safety is our number one concern, and we hope you still enjoyed your time with us even without the spices.
