Beautiful spot ! Bach could do with some upgrading ,
Bach itself is really niece , beautiful spot and very functional. My only criticism is : would be nice if shower curtain was not mouldy , shower bar rusty , pillows yellow etc... - just a little upgrading would make it perfect !
Loved the property. The views are gorgeous and it’s remote without travelling too far. Amazing communication from the owner and she was very flexible.
Can’t give it five stars on account of how dirty it was though. Grime and dirt and I am unclear what we paid a cleaning fee for. The kids and us also had bites despite not seeing a single mosquito or sanfly so are suspecting the place has fleas.
Perfect location! Communication so easy, early check in and extra people added last minute with no trouble.
Your typical kiwi Bach! Right on the beach, safe for kids and heaps of room for everyone!
We had the best weekend relaxing with friends and family.
Nice Area and off the grid. Just what we needed for a few days reset!!
Property is exactly old school kiwi Bach. Nice with the fire and awesome to reconnect with kids playing games and going for walks.

great location wonderful views
wondered if we had been forgotten about. compendium with information on how to turn hot water on was missing along with local information. beds not made. previous occupiers used linen left outside
Beautiful ocean view, wonderful family home on beach front property.
We had a wonderful weekend staying in this spacious family home. Just a short walk to the nearby beaches and playground. Home equipt with everything you need for a relaxing weekend away. Hosts were fantastic to deal with and the neighbours were friendly and helpfull too. Safe community, quiet area, great for the kids to explore with facinating fossils all through the rocks near the beach. Ideal place to bring the kids for a play on the beach, explore on the supplied kayaks or jump in the shallow tidal pools. Or just sit back and relax on the huge deck with a glass of bubbly and enjoy the view of the ocean, mountain and wind farm in the distance. A short drive to Kawhia to play on the playground, fish off the wharf, get fish and chips or soak in hot pools dug in the sand at hot water beach. Over all a great place to go and would highly reccomended to everyone.
If you want to find a bit of old NZ with the typical 70-80's Kiwi bach with the basics then this is the place. We loved it right down to the poached eggs steamer which I remembered from
growing up! Pity the weather wasn't so great but still enjoyed walks in the rain! Stunning scenery from the deck and dining room and lounge.
We had an awesome stay here, the views were amazing, there was plenty of room for the kids 2 run around and lots of parking for the boat, wud love to come back at some stage 😀
We found everything as stated ... it was clean & tidy, large lounge & kitchen to enjoy the spectacular water views, lovely deck with all the gear needed to enjoy a bbq. A no hassle visit
Property is tidy and well positioned on the waterfront. Well set up for couples or family groups. Aotea is a beautiful location and locals are very welcoming, helpful and friendly. Totally enjoyed our stay , thank you
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Waterfront, scenic outlook, 2 minute walk to sandy swimming beach, quiet, nice neighbours and community, warm, sunny, huge deck, undercover washing line, no issues with appliances and utilities, and all the things you need in a holiday house. I thought I was onto a winner when I booked, I was proven right. Thanks for letting us share this piece of paradise. I may be back. WRT other reviews - treat some that have been negative with a grain of salt. This is a holiday house/Bach - it’s not your recently renovated Glenn Eden villa.

Great location but tired property
Great views of Aotea Harbour from this location. Kids loved the peach tree which was filled of ripe peaches - thanks!
However, Property needs some attention - the top oven is broken, rooms are dusty especially under the beds, no soap or dishwashing liquid was provided and the light starter for the BBQ was not working. Will make a good holiday home for a family once these are addressed.
A lovely week away in Aotea. House was simple, neat and uncluttered. Bonus were the ripe peaches and apricots ready to be picked, new playground 150m down the walkway and horses in the pine forest. We loved exploring the harbour with the kids (aged 2-6) who enjoyed swimming in the warm pools at low tide and floating down the tides from the steps on their body boards. Boating in the harbour was easy and safe and the Kahawai were great, no Snapper around when we fished, according to the locals. A great Bach getaway and a quiet location.
