Fantastic bach at Makorori Beach. Excellent safe beach for swimming, surfing and exploring the reef at low tide.
Walk across the small beach road to the beach. Amazing views, and fabulous sunsets.
Small playground 100m away. 10 mins drive to town, and less than 5 mins drive to shop.
Studio-like set up with luxurious Californian King bed in lounge (View out toward sea) + one bedroom with single bed (also facing toward sea). 2 decks.
Idyllic spot!

Special conditions:
Minimum 3 nights. Smoking ok outside. Pets by arrangement only. Renter to replace water used if excessive.

Lovely for small family beach holiday

Homely and friendly bach at the beach. A short hop to the waves, a sheltered bay and well located to explore the area. We had a lovely week in Makorori. Recommend the stingray tour round the head at Tatapouri as well.

A wonderful Makorori Bach. Great location. Elevated with sea views. Very well appointed kitchen and bathroom. Loved staying here.

Great view and access to the beach. Loved the decor and collected vintage pieces. But the ramp and stairs up to the bach were scary in the rain

A great hillside hideaway with an awesome collection of books

Makorori Beach is beautiful any time of the year and even in the middle of winter, this house with its true bach vibe was a great place to stay. A heat pump in the open-plan lounge/dining/biggest-bed-you've-ever-seen area quickly made the space cosy and warm. If you're a reader, don't bother lugging any books up the steps as there is already an amazing collection inside. We'd happily stay here again.

Paradise by the sea

Beautiful location in a wonderful classic kiwi batch. Communication regarding key pick up left until the last minute, which made things stressful from our point of view. Otherwise an absolutely wonderful place to stay. Definitely recommended if you are a sun worshipper, surfer or just need an escape.

Quintessential Kiwi batch by the sea….

Quiet and cosy beach batch at Makorori Beach, only 15min drive from Gisborne city centre. Great for a surf, paddle board or swim! Only minutes from Tatapouri Stingray experience. The host Vicki was super friendly & left us to do our own exploring but was more than happy to share some local tips if we needed. If you want a relaxing time away falling asleep to the sound of waves & waking up to a spectacular view each morning than look no further!
