LONGSHORE: Absolute beachfront, spa pool, tennis court, swimming pool and more!

Longshore is a sprawling beach house with great indoor-outdoor flow, directly adjacent to the brilliant Waikanae beach. Eight generous bedrooms accommodate 21 guests in up to 18 quality beds, and there are 3 additional mattresses for children.

We have flexible bed configurations to suit families, singles and conferences etc. Most of our beds are superkings that can be split into two long singles on request. (Please ignore the summary bed descriptions from Bookabach - they don't have options to show superkings or long singles! Just click the blue "See all rooms and beds details" link in the "Rooms and beds section" above and you'll be able to see the precise options.)

This big house really will accommodate large groups, without compromise. By day, soak up the sun on the beachfront decks and lawns. Play tennis or swim in the heated outdoor pool (12-September - 30 April), then enjoy a BBQ lunch at the long table in the courtyard. In the evening, enjoy a pre-dinner drink and watch the sunset from the mezzanine Kapiti room, then share dinner with friends or family around the huge dining table at the heart of the house. Relax in the spacious lounge with Sky TV, or watch the night sky from the big spa pool. In the morning, breakfast in the kitchen diner with wood burner or on the sunny decks, then step onto the beach to swim, walk, play or relax.

Children will love the easy access to the beach for swimming or boogie-boarding etc. The outdoor fort and selection of toys will keep little ones amused. Older kids will relish the private first floor "crash pad" (bedroom 7) and the big trampoline. The rumpus room suits all ages, with table tennis, foosball, darts, pool table, etc - no rainy-day blues for anyone!

Longshore is a perfect venue for corporate retreats or small conferences. The huge dining table doubles as a spacious boardroom table for 16 and can also be split into 3 tables of 8. The dining room / conference room has a 65 inch smart TV for presentations. There are multiple breakout rooms and there's unlimited WiFi. After the work’s done, your team can swim, beach-walk, play tennis, let off steam in the rumpus room or relax in the spa pool.

To Bookabach, you may be "travellers" (a lovely Americanism) - but to us you'll be valued guests, whether you're locally based, from other parts of New Zealand, or international. Many of our families, companies and golfers etc return year after year. We can confidently say that all our guests have loved their stay.

NB: Due to a recent Government directive, Bookabach must add GST and pay this to IRD on behalf of the property owner. As we are already GST registered we have changed our rates on this website to GST-exclusive. Any quotations generated by Bookabach will show our GST-exclusive rates and a Taxes item, which is the GST. Other booking sites may operate differently.

Need more space? Book our adjacent properties, Seabreeze (4 bedrooms, up to 12 guests) and/or the Tennis Pavilion (studio bach with small bunkroom, for up to 6 guests) as well. We can offer a multi-property discount for mid-week and off-season bookings.

Waikanae, central to Kapiti's many attractions, is 40 minutes from Wellington by car or 60 minutes by frequent train with connecting bus to the Beach. Longshore has ample secure car parking and a bus stop a minute from the door.

Special conditions:

Maximum overnight guests: 24. The base rental covers the first 8 guests; per-guest charges apply thereafter. A bond is usually required. Smoking outside only. Please discuss proposals for special events with the owners.

The minimum rental period may be negotiable - please enquire. (We seldom accept one-night hires due to the cost of setting up and cleaning the property but will consider two-day one-night hires for mid-week business conferences. A supplement applies to 1-night hires, if accepted.)

The tennis court, trampoline and swimming pool are shared between Longshore, Seabreeze and the Tennis Pavilion. The swimming pool is heated from 12 September to the end of April each year and available 9am-6pm.

Sorry - we cannot accept any requests for noisy parties at Longshore due to the possibility of disturbance to our neighbours. Definitely no 21sts, stag or hen parties etc. Well-managed family celebrations including intergenerational groups are welcome. No noise that can disturb our neighbours after 10pm.

Sorry, no dogs permitted (except guide dogs).
