About this property

Walk to the wharf and village

Fern Tree Cottage's location is a winning one in the heart of Mapua village, within easy walking distance of the beach, wharf ,restaurants and all the amenities the village has to offer.

Our 100+ year old cottage retains its original charm, with some updating to the kitchen and bathroom. It is cosy,comfortable and clean and very welcoming , with a slightly retro feel to it. Great for families as the property is fully fenced for children and also has a bath for little ones. Off street parking is available. Reviews say it all!!

BIKERS please note that the annex/laundry area at the rear of the cottage is big enough to store your bikes and biking gear; no need to worry about security of your trusty steeds!

The Great Taste Bike Trail runs right through Mapua making it an ideal spot for some rest and relaxation. It is only 15 minutes to either Motueka or Richmond and 25 minutes to Nelson by car.

The Tasman region offers a wonderful array of wineries, restaurants, arts and crafts as well as the wonderful Abel Tasman where kayaking, tramping, swimming are all on offer.

Wonderful place to stay

We had a wonderful 5 night stay in Debbie’s cottage. Great location close to the wharf, bakery and playground. Perfect set up for our family of 5 (children aged 4,6 & 8). Very clean and tidy, comfy beds and very relaxed feel. This is a fantastic family holiday spot and Debbie’s communication was great.

Lovely quiet cottage

Had a lovely ANZAC weekend at Fern Tree cottage - even went to the service at 11am just down the road. Spacious and warm, and just around the corner from the shops and bakery. Kids loved the rooms, and there was plenty of space for everyone. Highly recommended.

Just a delight...the best 3 nights sleep we have had in the couple of weeks that we have been away traveling...Mapua is one of those places that you just want to hang around and this cosy little cottage, couldn't be any better situated to explore the area or just stay local and chill!

a perfect wee bach for a family

This place has all the relaxed charm of a 'typical' kiwi bach with the advantage of all the mod cons. You can relax and not worry about clashing with the decor or design asethetic! My shoulders moved away from my ears as we walked in the door.The front porch and the patio outside the double doors are great spots to just sit and sip coffee, wine or whatever. Great proximity to all you want in Mapua. Clean, comfortable and cute as a pin. We are not tall people however, and tall people might need to duck here and there.
