This magic property is set on the waters edge, framed by a grand pohutakawa on Northland's most exquisite and ‘best kept secret’ of NZ beach locations. This is a kiwi bach and bay that will remind you of how beach life used to be. Tapueatahi is the perfect family beach with safe swimming, beautiful sand and if you have the means – excellent fishing.
We have made some amazing memories in this wonderful beach house and invite you to experience this paradise, winter or summer this is where you can recharge your soul and take time away from the hustle and bustle.
Special conditions:
No parties and no additional guests staying beyond those booked.
No smoking inside or in the property grounds.
No tents or additional overnight guests without prior permission.

Calm in the Middle of a Storm

Despite our stay at this iconic Kiwi Bach coinciding with Cyclone Gabriel, the location and the comfort of this wonderful family Bach plus the friendliness of the hosts and neighbours made our stay here very special indeed. We loved the long walks on the empty beach and the sounds of the Kiwis at night. So cool indeed. We would love to book again one day.....perhaps cyclone free! Thanks so much Pete and Tissi!

Dream holiday in classic Kiwi paradise

This is the best bach we've ever stayed in. Absolute paradise, in a quiet, gorgeous bay. The house is classic Kiwi bach style, with so much outdoor entertaining space. Even with rainy days, having the two covered outdoor areas meant you didn't feel stuck inside. Our two young kids were in absolute holiday heaven. The beach is only a short 2 min walk away, so you can set up at the beach and easily walk home to pick up lunch and supplies. You can hear the kiwis calling at night, and the stars were absolutely beautiful. Lovely hosts, great set-up, magic spot. We loved it.

Stunning location for a beach escape! Couldn’t ask for better spot by the water. Loved the many outdoor seating options. Kitchen well equipped, some things needed a good scrub but otherwise easy to cook and prepare all your meals. We have young children so the third bedroom/bunk room was a little tricky to navigate with only an external door to deck which isn’t very clear on booking. There is an internal window which links to a double room though. Was quite dusty under beds so my sons allergies flared but not everyone will have such requirements. The fale was a highlight, superb spot to watch the sun setting and enjoy a glass of wine when kids finally go to bed. Definitely wanted to stay longer! Thanks for great communication prior and during stay. Lovely spot

Family weekend away

Beautiful location & the perfect kiwi Bach, everything was clean & tidy ready for us to have a relaxing weekend with the kids. We were even lucky enough to head further down the main road to see some Kiwis in the wild!

Awesome spot for a family break. Great snorkeling just off the back lawn. Excellent communication with owners. Hopefully we will get ti go back.

Great quite beach spot.

Lovely wee old Bach. Bathroom has been renovated. Has a heat pump but needs two more heaters in the bedroom and fan in the bathroom. Was cold in bedrooms at night in Autumn. Handy access to beach, lovely neighbours and water toys to play with. Would be perfect in the warmer Months.

We had a wonderful 5 days with our family in this perfect spot. The location is absolutely gorgeous and so glad we found it, just stunning. The accommodation is clean and lovely and has everything you need for a wonderful stay. The extra outdoor toilet and shower was very handy with a family of 6 adults. Beds very comfortable. Lay at night listening to kiwis calling. Thank you for our wonderful holiday.

Absolutley beautiful house and spot, we were blown away from the moment we drove down the driveway and opened front door,very well equipped, had everything you need to relax and enjoy your stay,beautiful bach, comfy beds, and was great for our kids. We did not want to leave. Wanting to recreate a family holiday when we stayed at another bach at sandy bay through bookabach too and this has exceeded that. It truely was amazing thanks to the hosts again. If you stay you wont be dissapointed

We are a local family who have enjoyed this beach for many years and when the opportunity arose to purchase a piece of this paradise we did!
Our family of seven children has grown over the years to include partners and grandchildren. The family use the Bach as much as possible and every second year at Christmas we all get together for two weeks of fun!
