great location for sure!!! however being a rental for guest you should have railing inside the house for staircase, very dangerous for elderly. The blinds in master bedroom did not work so no privacy and very bright in morning. walls need a good cleaning everywhere. clock in kitchen broken, chair on patio broken. Just know it is hard to open the sliding glass door to living room very hard to open use the kitchen one. the third floor doors didn't open to patio was master bedroom and one of the guest room sliding glass door handle broken. just a few problems over all beautiful home just need a little fixing up.

We take maintenance and guest safety very seriously, and we have since addressed these items by installing new staircase railings, fixing the sliding door handles, removing the patio chair, and giving the walls a thorough cleaning. Thank you for sharing your experience as we continually work to enhance our home, and we hope to welcome you back for a seamless stay in the future.

Our trip had several older adults, with the youngest of our group turning 61 this year. We got our exercise in with all the stairs, shopping and restaurants during the morning, then relaxed the rest of the day on the porch that faced the beach. The only problem we ran into was there not being any hand rails for the stairs. Made getting up the stairs on the inside of the house difficult. So we used the outside stairs as long as it wasn't raining. They were slick when it rained. Overall, we had a great time while we were in Galveston.

We're so glad your group had a great time in Galveston, and that the beachfront porch gave you a relaxing spot to unwind after busy mornings out shopping and exploring restaurants. It sounds like a wonderful trip overall.

Pleasant beach house stay

Property is in a good location with easy beach access. Well suited for family with children. Some wear and dings consistent with being a rental property but quite nice ivera-all.

Great time

The view is awesome! Sitting on the balcony watching the beach / waves, was very relaxing. House was nice! All bedrooms upstairs from living and kitchen which made it nice for the early birds and late risers to not get interrupted! Great house !

Great Beach Rental

We had a great stay! The location was perfect—a short walk to the private beach and nice views from the two balconies. The house was spacious, and the beds were comfy. Even though the listing said they don't provide beach towels, there were a few. We bought a few extra and donated them, as well as 2 new boogie boards, since the old ones were broken. The master didn't have a closet, which normally wouldn't matter, but we came to Galveston to get married and needed space for my wedding dress and the groomsmen's shirts. We used the spare room closets, so it all worked out fine.Overall, the place was great. I'd stay again in a heartbeat!

The location was perfect! Exactly as described. We were grateful that for the wagon, chairs, and boogie boards (and toys) provided since we were coming from 12 hours away and didn’t have room to pack those. (We did bring a couple chairs) . 2 min walk thru the grass onto the beach. The space within the house was very nice. Like the bedroom set up with 4 twin bunk beds in one room, and then a room with a queen and another with a king. The deck views were excellent. We utilized the washer/dryer also. We did a grocery delivery order so we did not have to go out. One thing to note: there are no railings in the inside staircases. We traveled with my 80 year old mom who has some mobility issues. She used the outdoor staircase (with railing) to get from the ground level to the main level, but had no option but to use the inside stairway (no railing) to go up/down to the bedroom on the 3rd level. We made it work and had to help her navigate the stairs. We minimized that to just 2xs up/down since we stayed 2 nights. I would choose this place again (if railing is added) and will recommend to my friends! Also the ease of communicating with the host and then getting into the home, was great!

Nice home in great location on island

We really like staying on Hershey Beach road because of the home, north location and closeness to beach. The home was in very good shape and the layout worked very well for our family that needed separate rooms for an exchange student that was traveling with us.The home was very well stocked. The utilities were fully functioning and made living their comfortable (heat and hot water both worked effectively). Also, kitchen and bathrooms were well-stocked.Electronics were functional. Internet was provided but we didn't use because the wifi info was in the guest book that we never found. Instead, we used a travel router plugged into their Xfinity router that allows us to create our own wifi network. We had the option to contact the host re: the guest book & wifi but we didn't need it because of our own equipment.All-in-all, I would definitely look to stay at this property again. We've stayed in Galveston roughly 5 times in as many years and we'd consider this property a favorite when we are not having to share the trip with another family.

Spacious house, great location, but many repairs, changes, and updating needed.

My family and I stayed at this beach house in June 2025. The location great and a very short walk to the beach. The The house was spacious and the view of the ocean from the two covered patios was amazing. However, the house is in overall desperate need of repairs, updating, and refreshing. We had to wash all the bath towels before we felt comforting using them, because they were dingy and looked like they had been quickly washed. Several of the wash clothes were old and had holes in them, and the towels were worn, and very scratchy. We also had to wash many of the dishes, and pots and pans, because they many had food stains on them or were dusty. Also, there was not enough cookware for everyday cooking needs. We had to hang a bath towel over the window in the master bath, because the window did not have blinds, or was tinted or beveled, and it faced the neighbors house. This gave them the ability to look into the bathroom easily when the lights were on at night. This was a serious privacy issue to my wife and I. Further, there was no TV in the guest bedrooms, and the TV remote in the master bedroom was broken, and the old TV came on when it was plugged in. So, we had to unplug it to turn it off. There are many more things I could point out that need to be repaired, replaced, or updated, both inside and outside of the house, but I think you get the picture. Although the location of this beach house is great (earning the 3 rating), I would not rent it again or recommend it, if no repairs, changes, or updating are done.

Hi Weldon, thank you for your feedback and for highlighting the great location, ocean views, and spacious layout of the home. We followed up with the owner, who would like to address the following: - The condition of the towels, cookware, and dishes has been noted and will be reviewed with the cleaning team to ensure quality and cleanliness are up to standard. - We understand the privacy concern in the master bathroom and are looking into adding appropriate window coverings. - The TVs and remotes will be checked and updated where needed to improve the guest experience. - Your comments help us identify areas for improvement both inside and out, and we appreciate your honesty. Thank you again for sharing your experience.

Location was amazing! House needs updates, no working smoke alarms, some dishes were dirty upon arrival. One of the deck planks on the upper deck is loose so watch your steps. The blinds in the two bedrooms are missing pieces, The washer works but have fun, it says unbalanced every load you do so you’ll be stuck doing laundry longer than you want. The beach view from the house is amazing though! There’s plenty of sand toys and boogie boards in the garage area. We had a great 4 day stay.
