Stylish Apartment Stay at 'Caringal Flats'
Located among Toorak’s serene, tree-lined streets, our designer, ground-floor apartment offers a unique, mid-century retreat within the heritage-listed ‘Caringal Flats’, crafted in the 1940s by renowned architect John William Rivett.
During your stay, we invite you to explore and photograph its charming grounds, whether taking a stroll on the iconic sky bridge or capturing the coral facades with vibrant green backdrops.
As frequent travellers, we have designed our 'lock-up and leave' apartment to easily transition from our personal abode to a welcoming haven for guests. You won’t find intruding personal belongings during your stay; instead, guests can enjoy the warmth of a lived-in space, with every detail tailored for comfort and convenience.
Stepping into the apartment, the sunlit living-dining space greets you, adorned with retro-inspired green carpet and floor-to-ceiling windows. The oversized FLOAT sofa by Sarah Ellison and a 55” TV invite you to unwind, while the Tulip dining table, flanked with pink Casala chairs, welcomes intimate dinner gatherings. Meanwhile, the curved balcony provides an idyllic nook to sip morning coffees amidst a palm tree and outlooks of the building’s coral mosaic.
In its original state, the kitchen comes fully equipped with all the essentials, including a fridge, oven, microwave, kettle, coffee machine, and dishwasher. Guests can also take a short walk up the building’s mid-century-styled staircases to access a communal laundry with coin-operated washing machines and dryers.
Spanning across three walls, our built-in joinery contains a bar section for a leisurely gin and tonic, a dedicated vanity zone and full-length mirror for getting ready and outfit checks, plus wardrobe space for hanging clothes.
Promising a restful night’s sleep, the bedroom features a king bed fitted with a premium Koala mattress, a custom bedhead by Heatherly Design, and lush linen bedding. Adjoined to the bedroom is the bathroom, also in its original state, yet curated to function with ease. The shower-over-bathtub has very strong water pressure—a small but important detail—while bath towels from BAINA and Tekla, combined with Aesop bathroom essentials, provide extra luxury.
Other features include a new AC unit, various streaming options, fast Wi-Fi, and ample street parking. Early check-ins and late check-outs are also commonly available—so please feel free to ask.
Lastly, beyond its rich interiors, our apartment’s location is a jewel in itself. A short stroll away lies cafes, restaurants, and boutiques, while city-bound trams on Toorak Road and trains from Heyington Railway Station ensure that, while you’re staying in tranquillity, you’re never far from the heart of the action.
