About this property

Banjos Cabin Gippsland | Valley Pond Views

Summary:
Escape to Banjos Cabin Gippsland set amidst scenic rolling hills with a relaxing pond view.

Wake to sunny mornings at your outdoor brekkie bar. Stroll leafy bush trails or explore nearby historic towns. Indulge in Tinamba’s fine dining, sample local wines or unwind at friendly country pubs.

Cool off on warm days with a swim at Blue Pool or relax lakeside at Lake Glenmaggie.

Return for a sunset drink on the deck, spotting kangaroos as festive lights sparkle by the pond beneath the starlit sky

The Space:
Step into this Hamptons-inspired hideaway, with soaring raked ceilings, French doors, and a bright, airy interior. Cool off under the ceiling fan or split system after sun-filled adventures, then unwind with a 55” Smart TV.

The kitchenette features electric cooktop, slow cooker, toaster, kettle, microwave, coffee pod machine, and a ceramic water filter—everything you need for easy al fresco dining.

Complimentary extras include tea, coffee, cereal, pancake mix, biscuits, primas and bottled water (still and sparkling).

Tasting platters are a popular addition - available by request at additional cost. Perfect for birthdays, anniversaries or a romantic getaway. Message us after booking for details!

Sleep deeply in the luxe king bed with premium linens, and refresh in your sparkling ensuite with fluffy towels, robes, complementary slippers, and goat milk soap.

Outside, wander through the emerging food forest, meet our friendly Babydoll and Suffolk sheep, and admire the rare Appaloosa Mini Harlequin flock grazing nearby. Pause by the pond and pollinator gardens, where new life is taking root.

Across the property, you’ll notice green plastic tree guards protecting young saplings - these help shield over 260 newly planted fruit and native trees from curious kangaroos and sheep as they establish. Together, they’ll form a thriving food forest and habitat for wildlife and pollinators, and a future ‘pick-your-own’ experience for guests.

At dusk, enjoy 'pink hour' as you watch kangaroos, cattle and horses graze as sweeping views stretch from the valley to the high country. This is rustic tranquillity, modern comfort, and pure magic in Central Gippsland.

Heyfield is our closest town, just 10 minutes away, with the Railway Hotel (great country hospitality and pub meals), IGA, fuel, chemist, and more. Larger regional centres, Port of Sale and Traralgon, are each about 25 minutes away, with charming country towns like Maffra, Briagolong, Rosedale, Tinamba and Cowwarr to explore along the way.

Guest Access:
Enjoy access to our expansive 8.5-acre working Greenstead, where you can wander the paddocks, meet the friendly pet farm animals, and soak up the tranquil surroundings.

Two new accommodations have recently opened on site (over 100m from the cabin). As this is a working Greenstead, we occasionally need to mow the grounds with a ride-on mower and move around the property to care for the plants and animals. We also live on site (about 50m from the cabin) to help with this upkeep, and are mindful of timing and guest privacy, ensuring you have plenty of space to enjoy your stay.

Self check-in via lockbox makes arrival easy, so you can settle straight into a relaxed and comfortable stay. A dedicated car park is located right beside the cabin for your convenience.

Other Things to Note:
Please note that we can only welcome guests over the age of 21 years as there is an unfenced dam on site (along with other risk factors).

The indoor fireplace is available for use between May and September. If you’d like to enjoy it during your stay, please let us know at the time of booking. A non-refundable $25 fee applies, which includes fire preparation, approx 4hrs of indoor burning time (kindling, firewood, and fire starters). Guests need to pls familiarise themselves with safe indoor fireplace use and accept full liability for any damage /injury incurred in doing so. The fireplace will be very hot whilst in use and nothing can be placed on top of it (or it will burn / melt).

For safety reasons, only seasoned hardwood as supplied by us may be used. Use of the fireplace or any self-supplied firewood without prior arrangement is not permitted, as a past incident prompted this policy. Thank you for your understanding and helping us keep the space safe and cosy.

Swimming in the dam or bringing your own fire pit / outdoor cooking equipment / BBQ / lighting fires is strictly prohibited due to safety / fire risk. Guests who breach these terms will regretfully need to be asked to leave immediately and their booking will be cancelled without refund. We appreciate your understanding in helping us keep our guests, neighbours and surrounding area safe!

Thanks 😊!

The property still has some finishing touches to be made to the outside but nothing that would spoil your stay. Everything inside was perfect & the decor was very nice. The only problem was that the bed was so comfortable l didn’t want to leave! Will definitely be back.

The cabin was super cute, clean and fresh. The wood fire heater was so lovely and the place was still warm in the morning. The bed was extra comfy. Mel was so welcoming and even let me feed the sheep. There was a lovely welcome gift and plenty of stocked foods. Nothing at all to fault.
