Acheron House is a sunny, pet- and family-friendly retreat nestled in Hanmer Springs. Enjoy stunning views of Mount Isobel and an easy walk to Conical Hill and the village. This spacious 3-bedroom home features a log fire, two living spaces with smart TVs, and an open-plan layout leading to a wrap-around balcony. The secure, fully-fenced, pet-friendly garden includes a kennel under the deck. Perfect for relaxing or exploring, Acheron House is your ideal alpine getaway. Freshly renovated bathroom!

This is self-clean accommodation. Everything needed for cleaning is provided. We can arrange cleaning for you but this will be an additional cost. Guests will need to provide their own towels (we provide hand towels, bath mat and tea towels), pillow cases and sheets. We can provide the details of a local supplier of linen and towels prior to your arrival, should you require this.

Superb place with fabulous views.The second lounge with another TV and games was great for the kids whilst the adults sat in the main room in front of the wood burner.Harry the dog loved it as there was also a secure garden.Great balcony.Would book again.

Short but sweet stay

It was our first time staying at Hanmer Springs and Daniel's home was the perfect spot to roost. It was near the walking trails and a short drive or a very nice leisurely long walk into town. We loved the fireplace and the views. Overall, it was a cozy, comfortable stay. Thank you for sharing your home!

Why they chose this property

We'd wanted a house in Hanmer for a long time, to make memories with our four girls and their grandparents, and we were recently able to make this dream happen. Because we have busy lives in Christchurch, we don't get to Hanmer as much as we'd like, so we wanted others to enjoy our special holiday home when we're not able to.

What makes this property unique

Acheron House has amazing views out towards Mount Isobel, and is nestled next to Conical Hill. The wrap-around deck puts you at tree level, and is a lovely spot to relax and soak in the views and birdsong.
