For COMPLETE info and area attractions see us on Facebook - Spruce Moose Chalets - and our website www.sprucemoosealaska.com

The three chalets are each private and secluded on five acres of hillside among spruce, hemlock, birch and willow trees over-looking Trail Lake in the CHUGACH NATIONAL FOREST. Each has it's own hot tub and will accommodate parties for 1-22.

CENTRALLY LOCATED in the middle of all there is to do on the KENAI PENINSULA:

Relax surrounded by snow-capped mountains, overlooking turquoise-colored Trail Lake.

The world-famous KENAI & RUSSIAN Rivers are just minutes away - world class fishing for salmon and trout, or rafting and bear viewing.

KENAI FJORDS NATIONAL PARK, EXIT GLACIER & HARDING ICEFIELD, and saltwater fishing on Resurrection Bay are also only minutes away.

Superb HIKING/mountain BIKING trails through lush forests to alpine meadows blanketed with wildflowers beside crystal clear snow-melt streams, waterfalls, ponds and lakes surrounded by glaciated mountain majesty are minutes away.

Our beautifully appointed, comforts-of-home-and-then-some chalet is your ideal home base for adventures on the Kenai Peninsula.

THE PERFECT WINTER RETREAT

SNOWMOBILING, Nordic and Alpine SKIING and BOARDING just out the door for your daytime adventures in the world famous Chugach Mountains back-country.

Relax watching the sunrise and alpenglow paint the mountains the full palate of Alaskan winter colors.

Soothe your winter aches in the HOT TUB under a dazzling star-lit sky- and if you're lucky, catch the NORTHERN LIGHTS. The hot tub is the best place to catch seasonal meteor showers and the aurora away from city lights.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you for a wonderful stay in your beautiful chalet. The views are unbelievable. Everything is so nicely decorated and comfortable. You’ve thought of everything to make our stay truly relaxing and enjoyable. Today we went kayaking around Fox Island. It was raining, but we still had a lot of fun. Tomorrow we hope to hike Exit Glacier & Harding Icefield and relax at the chalet. Thanks again for your wonderful hospitality.

Cozy place in the best location!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay in the Eagle Aerie so much! It felt like the most secluded of the chalets. The owner was very friendly and was always available if we needed anything. The view was fantastic and the hot tub was perfect after a long day of hiking. The location is just a short drive from both Seward and Cooper Landing which was extremely convenient. Lots of good hiking in the area! Couldn't even tell we were near the highway!

Great Place for a WINTER Getaway

  • 5 of 5

This place is amazing. Super clean, modern, spacious, and well-equipped. But for me, what I loved the most was the hot tub that overlooks Trail Lake and snow-capped mountains in all directions. There are a lot of fun activities in the area (skiing/snowshoeing/etc) and Moose Pass is a quiet place during this time of year. Fellow Alaskans, get out of town and enjoy this beautiful rental.

Great place to stay. Fully equipt!

  • 5 of 5

we had a wonderful stay for Christmas. It was even decorated with carols playing when we arrived. So warm and cozy and plenty of things to do outside. Only downside is that its pretty expensive after you add up all the fees and taxes.

Owner's Response: Glad you had a good time! Unfortunately, this may be the last winter we are open. Our winter rates avg 50% lower than summer, but we have much fewer rental days and the operational costs are higher. VRBO has now added a 4-9% fee to the renter to use their site and it's cut into our already slim winter margin, and bookings thru their site are down. We are in the hole this winter for the first time in 8 years. Folks that stay with us love the place in winter, but unless we can find more interest, it will not make sense to stay open.

Wonderful Cabin!

  • 5 of 5

We spent Thanksgiving at the cabin and it was great! The kitchen had everything we needed to cook our Thanksgiving dinner, the beds and rooms were all comfortable, living room was cozy with a great view of the lake and the hot tub was an added bonus! We spent some time cross country skiing, back country skiing was not far away and we drove into Seward to visit the Sea Life museum. We would absolutely recommend this cabin!

Serene, Alaska relaxation at it's finest

  • 5 of 5

Three levels of fun and relaxation, and the hot tub with an awesome display of the Northern Lights was a highlight. The views from the windows upstairs are magical. I came away feeling like I wanted to live there. The driveway is a bit steep and there is a jack-knife turn to get up to the cabin, so if you have a big truck, good luck. We will be making this a family holiday tradition.
