Very cute little place, very clean, friendly hosts, nice breakfast, wifi included, lost of space outside for my little one to play. We had a wonderful time, and would recommend.
We had a lovely stay in the gorgeous little town of Strathalbyn. So much to do and see in the area, recommend it to anyone. Val and Bruce were wonderful friendly hosts and we visited Val's Art Studio and viewed her art as well.
We chose this stay very last minute and were not disappointed.Score 10 reviews, new, clean, tastefully decorated and friendly host. breakfast provisions
This place was better than I expected. I'm sure I found the best place in Strathalbyn. Lots of room, such a pretty little cottage. Owners' were very helpful and friendly. I would defiantly stay there again. Loved it.
First appearance is deceptive looking like a garage however once shown inside surprisingly excellent. Note breakfast included should specify continental. Very comfortable bed.
Valerie and Bruce are fantatic hosts. The B&B was lovely. It was clean, peaceful, and well maintained; it looked exactly like it does in the photos. The location was perfect too...near enough to Strathalbyn town centre for cafes etc, but not too close. We will definitely book to stay there again next time we are visiting our friends who live nearby. 10/10.
The B&B is quirky & country, a great little place to stay! Bruce and Val are lovely hosts and catered for homely needs, like some fruit, room divider, brush & shovel, books to read, local knowledge. It was a foul hot day and the r/c aircon kept us cool, there was spray for the flies and the bed is so comfortable - we will stay again when we are over that way for sure!
This is a fabulous and very tastefully furnished new studio. Everything had been thought of and the host was extremely helpful and accommodating. The breakfast and treats were lovely touches. We will definitely stay here again and would recommend the accommodation in a heartbeat.
The property was beautifully clean and bright, very well equipped and a generous breakfast was provided. It was a little hard to find the way in, but the host was there straight away to guide us in. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful. The town centre is a short drive away.
Put simply, our stay was a complete delight! The studio was gorgeous and had everything we needed and our hosts, Valerie and Bruce, were so charming and kind. The consummate hosts! And you can explore Valerie's gorgeous little gallery and studio on the weekend. 100% recommend!
The room and bathroom were spotless, my wife is a cleaner and she was very impressed. The decor was so beautiful my wife now wants to redecorate our Unit.Valerie and Bruce were so friendly and helpful Thank you both.Jim and Lyn.
We stayed at Valerie’s beautiful cottage for a wedding in Strathalbyn. Wished we could have stayed longer as both the town and Valerie’s is perfect for a little get away. More lovely and spacious than shown in the pictures. Super easy checking, well looked after with linen, water, tea coffee and lots of breakfast supplies. Hosts were very helpful and generous. Very comfy bed and quiet, I opened the doors in the morning to listen to the birds. Thank you to you both.
Really lovely property and the hosts have done an excellent job setting it up….lots of beautiful little touches and so comfy and clean. although it’s on quite a busy country road/intersection, it is surprisingly quiet and doesn’t feel like it’s on a busy road at all! Beautiful!!😍
Loved our stay. The unit was beautifully presented inside and out with generous breakfast provisions provided. The bed was comfortable and the hosts have provided everything you may need for your stay. I loved the bed pillows provided, one soft and the other firm to cater to all needs. The outdoor area was inviting however because of the cold we enjoyed sitting in front of the sliding doors enjoying the morning sun streaming through. The hosts were friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.
From the start of our trip hosts Bruce and Valerie were nothing but the kindest people. It was a beautiful experience and we felt immensely welcomed during our stay. Our hosts went above and beyond, even giving us a lift to the wedding we were there for and picking us up. We are immensely grateful for our stay and if we are ever in the area again will be coming back to stay again. It is not often you meet such kind-hearted, generous people and we feel truly blessed.
Amazing stay- first guests to stay at this property
Valerie and Bruce were wonderful hosts and as we were their first guests in August, it is our pleasure to give them a very well deserved review. Our accommodation was beautifully appointed with an abundance of food for our 3 day stay. The undercover car space was a bonus. Valerie's art studio was amazing and Bruce made fabulous coffees from his van on the weekends. We thoroughly enjoyed our conversations with our hosts and their knowledge of the area was extensive and very helpful. The property was very close to town and we wouldn't hesitate booking this property again in the future. Thank you for your exceptional hospitality. Cheryl and Colin.
I stayed with Bruce and Valerie for a week while attending a woodworking course (lie-nielsen). I have found out as an adult I am neurodivergent and over the last few years I have had a struggle with my mental health. As an ongoing part of my recovery I have been challenging myself by expanding my social horizons. I did not expect to meet such wonderful people, initially I was a bit overwhelmed at the generosity regarding the breakfast and snacks, it was a generous kindness and consideration for any visitors needs.
I was privileged to have some time to talk to both Bruce and Valerie as they are curious and compassionate folks. I felt enriched by taking this time in Valerie's painting studio and gallery of watercolour paintings. I felt seen for who I am and welcomed.
The comforts were as you you would expect from the description, a newly built and appointed studio separate from the house and gallery.
I am now thinking of reasons to revisit the area with my wife so that we may stay there together and she can meet both of these considerate and empathetic hosts.
