30 min drive from Opotiki in the Pakihi Valley. Access is by fording the Pakihi stream (4WD Recommended) or by crossing the swing bridge. The driveway leads to a cozy Bach with all amenities including a large covered deck with a pizza fire, BBQ and plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy a night sky perfect for stargazing while listening to the local bird song including the call of local Kiwi. You will find on an evening walk there are glow worms in amongst the banks of the native bush lined driveway.
Inside the Bach downstairs is a comfy lounge with deck access, a kitchen and dining room with a bedroom which has a queen size bed and plenty of storage. The bathroom is in the hallway next to this bedroom. Upstairs is a large space with a queen size bed and two king singles, a couch to hang out and enjoy the view.
There is a smaller front deck for all your gumboots and hiking boots an outdoor couch for relaxing and watching nature at its best.
With the river just below and a swing bridge to connect to the Pakihi Track and Motu cycleway, you have plenty of options for exploring, fishing, hunting, hiking, cycling or just relaxing.
Linen and towels for your stay are sorted, you just need to bring beach or pool towels if you plan on needing them outside the property.

Unique location among the trees in the gorge. The accommodation is very comfortable with all amenities you expect while at home. Well equipped kitchen and outstanding outdoor area completed with a wood fired oven and a gourmet BBQ.
