This is a beautiful house in Hastings with 3 bedrooms, comfortable living and eating area, kitchen and a veranda offering a spectacular view on Hastings’s East Hill. It is an ideal place to stay if you wish to combine a relaxing summer holiday at the seaside with a visit to the vibrant metropolis of London.

Upstairs, the house offers one spacious double bedroom, two lovely single bedrooms, as well as a fully equipped bathroom with tub. A second toilet can be found at ground level next to the entrance door. The tastefully furnished living area contains two sofas, flat screen TV, DVD player including a diverse DVD collection and a dining table for 4 persons. The kitchen is equipped with a modern stove, oven, refrigerator and dishwasher. Next to the kitchen lies the beautiful veranda with an amazing view over the East Hill of Hastings. Here you can enjoy breakfast in the sunshine or have a delicious barbecue in the evening.

Disappointing

Property is in a shabby neighborhood with rubbish and dog poop in too many areas. Also up a very steep incline from bus stop and not close to much public transportation. The house is cluttered and difficult to get around without tripping on something. Shelves of VCRs with no VCR player indicate need for complete overhaul of furnishings. Some floor rugs are hazardous because curled on edges. The house needs a thorough, professional cleaning. The basement laundry was down a steep set of narrow stairs once you stepped over the pipe below the kitchen door. THe next door neighbor was helpful and friendly and we appreciated the supplies in the cupboard.

Das Haus entsprach ziemlich genau unseren Vorstellungen, das Online-Inserat war also sehr treffend. Die Einrichtung und alles fanden wir very british, fast ein wenig übertrieben, aber andererseits war das auch einer der Gründe, warum wir uns für dieses Haus entschieden hatten. Und wir haben und dort auch sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Ausstattung ist super, es ist alles da, was man braucht. Mein persönlicher Lieblingsplatz war auf der kleinen Terrasse vor der Küche mit Blick auf den East hill. Die Kinder fanden es toll, dass die Kinderzimmer so schön eingerichtet waren und wir alle mochten, dass es in dem Haus so viele Bücher gibt. Der Fußweg zum Meer bzw. ins Zentrum ist etwas beschwerlich (vor allem der Rückweg bergauf), aber okay. Wir sind auch oft über den schönen West hill gegangen. Wir können das Haus auf jeden Fall weiter empfehlen.

Urlaub in Hastings

Hastings muss man gesehen haben. Guter Ausgangsort für weitere Attraktionen in Kent und Sussex. Die Unterkunft ist auf den ersten Blick speziell, aber bietet Alles (WLAN, Küche, Bad etc.) was man im Urlaub benötigt. Auch was für Gartenfreunde. Bushaltestelle Richtung City 5 Minuten zu Fuß entfernt. Besonders hervorzuheben ist das neue Badezimmer mit der extrem coolen Dusche (Keine Badewanne wie es im Inserat steht vorhanden!). Freundliche und hilfsbereite Kommunikation mit Vermieter und Nachbarn. Wenn man erstmal angekommen ist (Körperlich und seelisch) dann fühlt man sich direkt wie zu Hause. Strände sollte man nur mit Badeschuhen besuchen, da sich im Umfeld nur grobe Kiesstrände befinden. Abzüge gibt es bei den Fahrrädern. Diese sind nicht gebrauchsfertig (Aber in Hastings Rad fahren ist auch eine Herausforderung!)! Kann sein, dass wir wiederkommen!!!!! :-)

It was good for the price

Katharina was easy to communicate with- got back to us quickly. The location was a 10/15 minute walk to old town and the hustle and bustle of the roller coasters/fair “stade” which was wonderful for our family. The house was not cleaned professionally, which meant the floors were sticky, carpets dirty, couch had peeling paint from the pillows. It needed a good scrub by us. We didn’t mind much because the price was good. There were many collections that were housed in the home- books to read, dvds, vhs tapes, mugs, clothes, which made it hard for us to put any of our own clothes away. I recommend choosing this place if you don’t mind lots of character.

Hastings

It suited us to stay in a house, with separate rooms for two children. Nice to have all the amenities of a house. Good location to visit the surrounding areas. Walking into town takes a bit of getting used to as it is a bit hilly, but felt the benefit of it towards the end of our visit. Host was very welcoming and explained the house amenities well. The local Chinese was the best we had for ages, just a few minutes up the hill, next to the local shop and pub.
