Le Loft du Bougnat

The Loft du Bougnat is located in a farmhouse built around 1720 by the Varennes family, the lords of Bois-Rigaud in Usson. Traces of the building can be found in the archives of the Cluniac monastery of Sauxillanges. This unique loft offers 80 m² of authenticity and tranquility, perched on a secluded hilltop amid a 1.3-hectare garden and surrounded by 30 hectares of meadows. You’re just 15 minutes from the A75 highway, yet already in the heart of the Livradois-Forez Regional Nature Park.

Large garden with a traditional Finnish hot tub. More than just a bath—it’s a treatment! The hot tub is heated naturally with a wood-burning stove. The tub is emptied and refilled after each guest’s stay. No chemicals are used, as the water is subsequently drained into the pond. The Finnish bath requires 6 hours of preparation, from filling the tub to heating the wood-burning stove, and can only be used in good weather. A fee of €70 is payable on site to cover the cost of wood, water, and heating.
