COTTAGE LOCATION;
The cottage is in a great location in Hatchet Bay which is small town with friendly people in the upper middle part of the island which is perfect for exploring everything to the north and south. We are located 25 minutes from Governor's Harbor Airport and 35 minutes from North Eleuthera Airport. The little town has restaurants, bars, beaches and food stores you can walk to. It is very safe and friendly even for single female visitors at night. There are many other additional world class beaches and other restaurants and adventures within minutes of the cottage. It is critical to be in a great location on an island that is 110 miles long and half a mile wide, otherwise you are in for a lot of driving with some very expensive gas prices.

COTTAGE DESCRIPTION;
The property is situated on a stunningly beautiful 2 acre peninsula with over 500 feet of shoreline and a few other cottages yet all are private with foliage and fencing. The studio style air conditioned cottage has an awesome deck that overhangs the ocean. There is a table and chairs for al-fresco dining and two lounge chairs for lying out in the sun. You will see Eagle Rays swimming by daily and all sorts of marine life from the deck. The interior is open and bright with fabulous ocean views from the sleeping area and the kitchen window. Just keep in mind it is small studio style design with a queen bed in the sleeping area - please see our listing photos. Listening to the ocean each night as you fall asleep along with the gentle trade winds provides for some real peace and tranquility. A small inside dining table for 2 people and small, but full kitchen. The kitchen has a 4 burner gas stove with oven, kitchen sink, full size fridge, microwave, toaster, drip coffee maker and all the normal kitchen gadgets. There is a 36" flat screen TV mounted on a wall shelf with cable TV. The property has Wi-Fi, both inside the cottage an on the expansive property grounds. There are beach chairs and a charcoal grill. ***Safety note if you are traveling with small children, the deck railings run horizontal and not vertical so a small child could fit through the slats just so you are aware. See photos to see what we mean. Overall this is one of the most stunning rentals on the island with the insanely dramatic deck views all at an affordable price.

SUPPORT THE LOCAL ECONOMY;
Unlike the 95% of rental properties that are owned by foreigners, this property is owned by the McCardy family who are local Bahamians. So the funds you are spending goes right back into the local economy versus being wired to some foreign bank account which we think is pretty darn awesome.

ELEUTHERA IS NOT FOR EVERYONE;
If Miami Beach or Vegas is your thing we respectfully suggest you pick a different destination. Eleuthera is a sleepy island with some flaws; bad roads, dated infrastructure, there can be power / water / internet outages and the occasional gecko on the wall. The trade off is going back in time 75 years to an unspoiled gorgeous island where you will explore the most stunning beaches you have ever seen and have them usually all to yourself. The seafood is fantastically good. The people are warm and genuine, crime is very low and the vibe is super chill. We love it and so do 95% of our guests.
