Rocky Ridge Retreat

Providing the perfect mix of rustic outdoors and modern amenities, our Seldovia house offers guests all the comforts of home, alongside breathtaking wilderness adventures. Whether you’re looking to hunt or fish, boat or kayak, hike some glorious trails, bird watch or just relax on the spacious deck and enjoy nature, Rocky Ridge Retreat has everything you need. This custom-built, 2,000 sq. ft. home was completed in 2018, featuring two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a chef’s kitchen with beautiful soapstone countertops, a Quadrafire woodstove and custom woodworking throughout. It sleeps up to 10 guests. The open floor-plan makes this a great gathering space.

The house sits on 40 acres, providing optimum privacy and seclusion, yet is also just a short walk or drive to downtown Seldovia, and mere minutes from the airport and harbor. Seldovia is located on the Kenai Peninsula, south of Kachemak Bay. There are no roads to this quaint and eclectic town, but it can easily be accessed via air, ferry, or water taxi from Homer.

Of note, Rocky Ridge Retreat is a remote home. Services such as internet and landline phone are unavailable at this location. We do leave a Verizon iphone for emergencies and local contacts. Sometimes hotspot can be obtained with the iphone. However, internet services are free in the village at several locations including the Seldovia Public Library, Seldovia Harbormaster Office, and several restaurants. We ask our guests to be mindful of water usage as we also have a slow filling well and septic system. The holding tank for water will be filled with 1000 gallons upon guest arrival, but requires a manual refill when low. Owners should be called on the house iphone if there are any problems during the stay. Campfires are allowed in the campfire pit when local burn bans are not in effect.

Loved it! The home was beautiful as always. Bear came through the yard that we watched from the many big windows. Caught lots of Halibut, saw orcas and humpback whales and the kids loved walking to town to play at the playground. We’ve stayed here a few times now and it’s always perfect. Rocky Ridge Retreat

Rocky Ridge Retreat is a stunning home in a tranquil setting. Our party throughly enjoyed the comforts of this spacious home while visiting Seldovia. The home is within walking distance of town yet located in a very private setting along Rocky Ridge. It's very evident the property manager takes great pride in this home. I'd highly staying at Rocky Ridge Retreat.

Great Halibut Trip!

We stayed for a long weekend with family from out of town and loved every minute of our stay. The house and property were beautiful. The kids loved the fire pit, the big lawn, the Rocky Ridge hike, the short walk to town (aka ice cream and the playground!) and all of the board games provided. The house is beautiful and well stocked. All instructions and communication was easy and the internet (hard to come by in Seldovia) was amazing. Very comfortable. Short boat ride to some truly amazing fishing! We will be back! Thanks Nick and Jess!

Amazing Place!

We had such a wonderful time at Rocky Ridge Retreat! It was a relaxing and peaceful place with beautiful views. From forest hikes to beach walks, lounging in the sun on the deck to sipping wine by the campfire, our time was inspiring and rejuvenating. Jes and Nick provided so many amenities and their amazing place in the cute and quaint town of Seldovia was the ideal spot for our getaway. Highly recommend staying here!

A Mansion in the Forest With Absolutely Everything!

The communication with the owners, incredible, the property, beautiful, the home itself, an absolute miracle in a land of astounding beauty! The entire house is so well stocked with stuff you might need and lots more just to make life luxury out in Seldovia! Easy access to everywhere in town, and as a wildlife and nature photographer, I can attest to the incredible surrounding landscapes and wildlife! I will never stay anywhere else whenever I'm in town, worth every penny!! This place and the owners rock!!

Seldovia on 4th of July is place to be

Awesome house. Review transportation costs between Homer and Seldovia before trip. Our ferry cost was near $400 for round-trip for five people. Look into flights between homer and seldovia. Transportation between dock and home is another variable. The local cab was inexpensive but a golf cart would have been spectacular. We looked into renting one but the rate was near $150 for two days and decided to walk and ride bikes provided instead. Seldovia is a beautiful Alaskan town.
