Perfect lake cabin
Very nice, adorable cabin on the lake. We had a great stay, plenty of spaces to spread out and enjoy the view. We had a colder week than expected so the hot tub was the perfect retreat from the cold.
This cabin was the perfect place for our family of five. We stayed here for two weeks while getting some work done on our house, and everything in the cabin was clean and comfortable. The beds are comfy, the views are gorgeous, and the quiet location made an otherwise stressful time much more relaxing than it would have been. The owner was terrific. We'd stay here again, hopefully for fun next time!
Cozy and comfortable
We enjoyed the cabin. Very relaxing and perfect for our budget and needs!
Perfect, exactly what we were looking for. Clean and cozy with an amazing view.
Wonderful get away.
Lots to say about this rental...
I have lots of thoughts on this rental. I think it could be so much better with some minor improvements. Overall, our stay was ok but lacked the on the lake feel since there was no way to enjoy the lake other than renting boats. There were no dock chairs to sit on the dock which was a huge negative. After the first couple days with rain, there was no way to enjoy the dock anyway as the first 10-15’ collapsed and was under water! As for the house itself, it seemed very unloved. Walked up and the pots outside with rosemary growing were half dead so we bought pretty flowers to make entry feel more welcoming. The Living area was pretty good since there are 3 levels with bedroom and bathroom on each level which was nice for privacy. Beds were very comfortable but new pillows are definitely needed! There was a welcome packet on the nice table, but would have liked to have more info in it like Wi-Fi password, places to eat, boat rental places, hikes, an explanation of which dock is ours to use ( across small road) etc. We did go to Dahlonega one day and hiked up the Amicalola falls which was very fun and the lodge at the top would be perfect for dinner or a drink overlooking the mountains. Bedrooms had no closets so we could not hang any clothes.
Outside deck definitely could use refinishing and new deck chairs/table purchased. The current set is awful. The screen door leading inside was broken and barely closed. Also noticed the gutters were growing things and looked like they had not been cleaned in years! The small rugs in kitchen and outdoor lanai should be cleaned or just replaced. The master bath could use some open shelving unit to be able to set out toiletries. Also think the fireplace could be cleaned out for the summer to get rid of the old smoke smell. We did use the hot tub but directions were not clear so we were unsure how to treat/use it. It was nice once we got the temp up but noticed a musty odor the 2nd time so never used again. The kitchen was well equipped altho some of the pans could be tossed as they were very old. The lake views from both sides is nice altho hard to see with lots of trees. The big open water is just down a couple minutes but again we couldn’t see with no dock chairs. Nice location tho for the main part of the lake. We did a 2 hour jet ski tour and rented a boat for a day which was fun but pricy at $400.
Need a boat to enjoy the water as the lake didn’t look too clean by dock.
