Welcome to The Garnsey! Fully renovated + 145' of private beach

Recently purchased and fully renovated in 2019… bringing it back to life! This colonial lake house has amazing history dated back to the late 1700s. We’ve truly fallen in love with its old charm (but new feel) and want to share it with you!

The Garnsey can comfortably hold up to 10 guests with 4 large bedrooms (2 king beds + 2 queen beds + sectional sofa) and 2.5 bathrooms. Wait until you see the master ensuite! Free high speed WIFI access and TVs in each bedroom/living space.

The chef’s kitchen is an open concept layout with a custom island for the whole crew to enjoy meals and time together! Equipped with a dual fuel range, dishwasher, refrigerator with filtered water/ice, microwave, toaster, blender, pots/pans, dishes, and silverware. You will also have a Keurig coffee maker fully stocked with kcups and teas ready to brew!

The mudroom has an additional refrigerator if needed for drinks or extra food you may want to bring, a front loader washer and dryer, and a custom wash station.

You’ll have a large private beach front just a short (somewhat steep) walk down from the house for fishing, cookouts, or just to enjoy the view. The house’s upper balcony is a beautiful spot to take in sunrises as well! A new seasonal dock will be installed and available from May 15th – September 15th with public access boat launch available just 1.5 miles down the road at Cayuga Lake State Park if bringing/renting a boat.

Another great spot to enjoy is the outdoor cookout area on the paver patio in the backyard with a propane grill, patio set, and chiminea for fires at night.

Contactless check in with combination code access is as easy as it gets! We are local so if anything is needed during your stay, we will do our best to accommodate.

Considerations when booking:

- Route 89 is a busy road and has to be crossed to walk down to the lake shore.
- There are no stairs down to lake shore so the walk down the hill may be steep for some.
- The showers are located on the 2nd story so stairs will be required to shower.
- Main access to enter the house is through the garage.
- Any additional guests require pre-approval.
- No parties/events unless pre-approved.

Fantastic Family Trip

We had a fantastic time celebrating a 70th birthday together as a family. The house is beautiful, extremely clean, spacious and has everything we needed and more! The weather was perfect. We enjoyed the lake, wineries and local restaurants. The host was extremely communicative, helpful and gracious. We all had the absolute best time! Would highly recommend to anyone!

What a beautifully remodelled, perfectly appointed home! The view of Cayuga was breathtaking - from Venus up at dawn to fireworks on the far shore at night. What an amazing experience at the Garnsey!

Great place!

We greatly enjoyed staying at the Garnsey! It was perfect for a group of family and friends gathered to celebrate a daughter’s birthday. There was lots of room for us all to sleep comfortably and great areas for us to gather together to eat and talk. We would have loved to enjoy the fire pit down by the lake, but it was extremely hot so we did not, however the children did take a dip in the lake there.The host had everything laid out for us to help make our visit wonderful and stayed in touch to make sure we did not need anything else.

Solar Eclipse Family Reunion 2024

Finger Lakes Solar Eclipse may have been cloudy but we could not have asked for a better place to view it than at Lake Cayuga shoreline at the Garnsey. The sky got erie dark and the birds were silent. It was an incredible experience to share with family from all over the country. The adults had a blast attending local wineries/breweries and the local parks were fun to hike and explore My grandson appreciated all the toys/puzzles available to keep him amused. The home is lovely. Do not hesitate to book this property. The location, accommodations, and view are spectacular.

Beautifully updated lake house

Charming house—lovely porch with lake views, spacious backyard, lakeside fire pit, views from the living room and at least 2 bedrooms…wonderful place! FYI, if you have small children, there is a road between the lake and the house. It was no problem for us—we had drinks and appetizers while viewing sunset over the lake and cocktails by the fire pit in the evening. Fun stay!

AMAZING!!!!

I stayed at Missy’s place for my bachelorette party and I cannot say enough positive things about it! From the second we walked in we were blown away by the adorable personal touches. Everything was spotless, there were fun games to play, the property was beautiful, the location was perfect.. the list goes on! I can’t wait to come back in the summer and take advantage of the lake!! Also Missy is incredibly responsive and sweet and helpful. Beyond a 10/10. Book now!!

What an amazing property. This house made our bachelorette weekend perfect. Beautiful bedrooms with oodles of pillows, wonderful kitchen, extra fridge space, and a lake front view that makes you want to get up and sing! Also a host that checks in regularly to make sure you’re never wanting. Would stay again and again ❤️

Exceeded expectations!

The home was immaculate and very well appointed. The host was gracious and has a knack for hospitality. The home was equipped with everything our family needed to enjoy the lake and area. The private boat house had kayaks and fishing poles, the dock was new and in great shape. It was perfect for us as we rented a pontoon while staying there. We would defiantly rent this home again!

Wonderful Property

We loved our stay at the Garnsey House! Melissa was so attentive and a wonderful host. The house was great for our family. We enjoyed the beautiful view from the front porch and evenings in the back by the grill! Highly recommend!!!!

Beautifully Appointed

This property was perfect. The host was very responsive. Four couples traveled from CT to Seneca Falls to celebrate a 95th birthday. The Garnsey house was clean, beautifully appointed, well stocked, with an amazing view of Cayuga Lake. The back patio was very welcoming. Will try to come back here!

Beautiful house and view!

This is such an amazing house on Cayuga Lake! Our group of 8 had more than enough space to spread out and there were options to keep us all entertained during our stay. Also, the view can't be beat. We loved drinking our morning coffee out on the front porch and enjoyed the fire pit down by the lake every night. There are plenty of things to do between 15-30 mins away from the property too, so we had an endless list of things to explore. Finally, I want to make sure I convey how wonderful of a host Missy is. She was super responsive to all of my questions and even went out of her way to provide a few members of our group with fishing poles so we didn't have to rent them. I will definitely be staying here again if I'm traveling in the Finger Lakes region!

Amazing Stay

We had SUCH a wonderful experience at this house! The house itself is absolutely gorgeous...the pictures don't do it justice. We were blown away! Everything was perfect and provided for. The rooms were large and gave enough space for my 4 year old to play and the adults to relax. All the furniture was super comfortable. Checking in and out was a breeze. It was easy to walk across the road to the lake and fire pit, and we had a great night under the stars making s'mores the one night. There is also a large backyard and chiminea which we utilized as well. It's so close to so many great wineries and breweries and the suggestions provided were awesome! Thanks again for the perfect stay!! Would highly recommend!

Beyond Amazing!!

First impression was that this home is beautiful, breathtaking and so comfortable, Final impression was that, and more!! Spending time in this luxury farmhouse was incredible, The hostess, Missy was so gracious and available quickly for every single question. She pays attention to all the fine details. Finger lakes with a view

As our first trip in the Finger Lakes, it did not disappoint! We have stayed in many homes off VRBO and this was by far the best. Not a thing was needed and everything you could imagine needing was at your finger tips. The view from the front porch was stunning and great to sit with a up of morning coffee. The host was so attentive to questions and comments throughout the process of booking to departure. I only wish we could have stayed longer!

Great house with great hosts

This was our first lake vacation as a family and the house and hosts could not have been any better. The house was even better than it appears in the pictures and the hosts were great. They provided all necessary information in advance and were extremely helpful before and during our stay.

Week by the lake

This is a beautiful house with lake views from almost every room. Melissa is a very accommodating and responsive host. And the lake front area is substantial. We particularly enjoyed kayaking and even just sitting on the dock and observing the great variety of wildlife. We regularly saw heron, osprey, a family of swans and a couple of times, a bald eagle flew overhead. Overall, we had a lovely time. But there are a few issues to be aware of. One, the road between the house and the lake is 55 mph. So, if you have someone who has mobility issues, that can be a problem for reaching the lake. Also, there is a lot of plant growth in the water, so it is not so inviting for swimming--although we had a lovely time lounging in floats. Finally, when we booked, the website listed two beds in the fourth bedroom, but there was only one when we arrived--although there were blow up mattresses available.

Amazing Lake House!

We picked this lovely house to accommodate a larger group of 10 for my sister's bachelorette party. The house was immaculate and the lake front was awesome. The house was fully equipt and had exactly what we needed to host a couple of wine dinners. The bedrooms are beautiful with so many thoughtful touches throughout the house. Great location close to several wineries and other outdoor adventures. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our stay. So much fun, Highly recommend!!!

Beautiful property by the lake

Beautiful house by the lake. Perfectly appointed, clean and stocked on essentials. Melissa, the property manager, was super attentive and was quick and eager to assist us. Location was superb for finger lakes activities and visits. We had a very special week celebrating our daughter’s Cornell graduation.
