A Cabin for All Seasons....
This beautiful 2800 sq ft lake home is tastefully decorated with an upscale, modern Northwood's theme. Our cabin provides spectacular views of the lake from a wall of windows in the great room and faces east for gorgeous sunrises. Knotty pine walls and ceilings throughout the interior create a wonderfully rustic 'Up North' feeling. The stunning vaulted & beamed great room opens to the large upper level lakeside deck, equipped with outdoor dining furniture with seating for 6 and a marvelous 6 burner Kitchenaid gas grill. You can enjoy the sounds of the outdoors and feel the cool lake breezes from our screened porch, which is furnished with a table, sofa and chairs. A lower level deck provides a shaded area for quiet relaxation, including 2 hammock chairs and 2 chaise loungers.
The primary bedroom is complete with an inviting queen bedroom set. A second bedroom with a queen bed is located on the main level. A queen bed and futon in the loft allow sleeping for 4 adults. Sky lights in the upper loft area create an open and spacious feel and allow you to peek at the moon and stars . Experience the loft's comfy leather chair and futon where you can relax and read your favorite book in complete bliss. The lower level lakeside bedroom also has a queen bed and lovely lake view.
We have taken great care to ensure our bedding provides a luxurious and comfortable night's sleep. Our mattresses are 100% organic natural latex from Avocado Green Mattresses. All beds have plush mattress toppers as well.
The lower level of the lake home features in-floor heat throughout and has a rec room with a ping pong table. The adjacent family room is outfitted with a 65" flat screen tv with satellite service, Blu-Ray player and super comfy furniture--bring your favorite DVD movies or watch some of ours.
Enjoy music throughout the entire home with the SONOS wireless Surround Sound Stereo System, curl up near the fieldstone fireplace to warm up after a day on the trails or play some ping pong on the table tennis set-up in the lower level.
The 1587 acre Minong Flowage is a premium destination lake in northwestern Wisconsin. Adjacent 169 acre Cranberry lake, rumored home to Al Capone's Northwoods hideout estate is accessible via a navigable channel and adds to the total of nearly 2000 acres of water to enjoy. There are lakeside restaurants, public islands and numerous little bays to explore. The shoreline is heavily wooded with pines and hardwoods, and the lake is well known in the area as a quality fishery and provides abundant walleye, northern, bass and panfish. It is considered a sportsman's and recreational lake with good quality lake water. Swimming is great at Sand Island, the park public beach, or right off the dock. We offer a new, 20', 10 person Sylvan Pontoon for separate rental, or bring your own boat.
We have recently added a 7 Person Sauna to the property, adjacent to our lower deck.
Our cabin is situated at the end of a dead end road, well away from the main road and very private. It is located 25 miles west of the quaint town of Hayward and 20 miles north of the lovely town of Spooner, with an enticing selection of shops and restaurants to check out in both locations. It is 8 miles from the Village of Minong with a well-stocked grocery store where you can purchase all of your necessities. There is also a general store located within 3 miles of our cabin.
There are many unique recreational opportunities nearby. The Namakagon River, a part of the National Parks system; The Upper St. Croix river, a part of the National Wild and Scenic Rivers; and the intimate and wild Totagatic river, are all within 10 miles of the cabin and are waiting to be explored by canoe or kayak. And the fishing is world class!
Washburn county has more than 500,000 acres of public land to explore and the area also includes miles and miles of ATV and snowmobiling trails that can be accessed directly from our property. Black Bear Golf Club and Tennis Courts are just a 7 minute drive from our home.
If you are into Mountain biking The CAMBA trail system, which contains 118 miles of singletrack is only 1/2 hour away in Hayward. Spirit Mountain downhill park and the skyline trail system is just one hour away in Duluth.
If you are coming in the winter, bring your skis! The Birkibiener trail, the midwest's premier Nordic Ski destination, is just 25 miles away; the groomed Totagatic Trail network, which is an absolute gem and free to use, is just 5 miles from the cabin. Amnicon Falls State Park is just 45 minutes north and Duluth is an hour--both excellent destinations for a day trip.

Our home is on a hill (providing the beautiful view!) The steps down to the dock are not easily accessible to people with mobility issues.
You may notice ladybugs in the cabin. Ladybugs seek refuge inside during cooler weather. Many are removed during regular cleaning, but you will likely still see some around during your stay. They are harmless :)
**Please note: there are no exceptions to the 10 person max. It puts too much stress on our septic and other facilities. Thank you for understanding!
